Berry Cottage is a beautiful holiday cottage located in the idyllic village of Greenfield in Saddleworth, nestled on the edge of the Peak District National Park in the South Pennines. The cottage is within walking distance of local walking hotspot Dovestone reservoir and a short drive to many other tourist spots in Yorkshire such as Holmfirth, Marsden and of course the other local villages that make up Saddleworth. There are also fantastic transport links to Manchester, Huddersfield and Leeds. Pots and Pans Pots and Pans is a local well known hill (approximately 1,200 feet) overlooking most of the Saddleworth villages. It is the site of a Grade 2 listed war memorial which was constucted in 1923. This is a well trodden walking route and great views await those who make it to the top. Dovestone Reservoir There are many walking paths around here around the reservoirs, up the surrounding hills and onto the nearby moors. There is also a sailing club on this reservoir. Canal boat tours There are canal boat tours that set off from outside the museum in Uppermill and last 1 hour. Uppermill and Greenfield These two villages (the cottage is within Greenfield) have a host of shops, cafes and pubs which will keep you entertained for hours. From the cottage it is only a 2 minute walk to the local pub and nearest shop. Throughout the year there is always something to celebrate in Saddleworth from the traditional walks of Christian witness at Whitsuntide with to the 'Yanks Weekend' where the villages of Saddleworth come alive. Free parking is provided. Berry Cottage is located near to the local train station in Greenfield with rail links to Manchester (27 minute journey time) and Huddersfield (21 minute journey time).
