It abuts Pennsylvania's Montgomery County in the north-central part of the Philadelphia. Our local colleges include LaSalle University and Community College of Philadelphia, but Eastern University's Esperanza College, Temple University, Manor College, and the University of Pennsylvania are short rides away. Olney's 5th Street business district which begins two blocks south reflects the diversity of East Oak Lane/Olney where over 49 different languages are spoken in the homes. You may catch a train or an express subway at Fern Rock Transportation Center (a 90 second car ride away) which will connect you with the rest of the city and the world. For trips into Center City, West Philadelphia, and the Sports complex, this is the best way to get around. For trips into the countryside or over to the beaches of New Jersey, you may prefer a car.
