The rurally situated locality is quiet, but not remote. The stone country house consists of two independent holiday apartments. It dates back to the 16th century and has been lovingly restored, preserving the ancient features and original structure. It is decorated in an Arte Povera style, simple and rural, but comfortable. Free wireless Internet access is available. Each apartment in the country house has its own outdoor area. The apartments share a pool, which is in a separate area next to the gardens, ensuring privacy for guests. The pool is also for the use of guests at property no. 1023587, about 700 metres away and belonging to the same owner. It is an overflow pool with a sterilising system based on salt water, without chlorine. It is not supervised, measures 6 x 12 metres and is open from May to September (depending on weather conditions). The owners offer cookery courses or individual instruction, so you can learn to prepare typical Tuscan dishes, as well as pasta, bread, game and even medieval dishes (prices available locally, depending on the course). The courses take place in the owners’ restaurant, where you can also dine in the evening if you book in advance. Firewood is provided during the cool season. The first 100kg are free, further use is payable. The centre of Cortona is only a five-minute drive away. The nearest supermarket is only 1km away and is within walking distance. A coin-operated launderette, which belongs to the house owners, is also nearby (4km). The lake, Lago Trasimeno, is just 15km away. The major art cities of Central Italy are easy to get to: Montepulciano (30cm), Arezzo (32km), Perugia (45km), Gubbio (65km), as well as Siena, Assisi (both 70km) and Florence (90km). Holiday apartment on the upper floor The independent holiday apartment is accessed up outdoor stairs, leading from the private garden to the first floor. It provides three bedrooms, two each with a double bed (160 x 190cm) and one with two single beds (80 x 190cm). The bedrooms also have a wardrobe and a dresser. The spacious living room-kitchen features a country style and is pleasantly cosy. It provides a big fireplace, a sofa, a wooden dining table, a flatscreen TV with satellite channels (Pay TV SKY with your own card), and a brick-built kitchen unit. There is a big fridge with a freezer compartment in a niche in the wall. The kitchen unit is well-equipped with a dishwasher, gas stove, oven, coffee machine and toaster. There are two bathrooms: one with a shower and the other with a bath and shower attachment. The apartment has heating, but no air conditioning, as the indoor temperature is pleasant due to the old stone walls. Fans are available. Two supplementary beds can be added on request. The apartment has a private 500m² garden with sun loungers. There is a terrace with a parasol, a table and chairs. The apartment has its own parking space. A barbecue is also available.
