We have been living totally off grid since the first day this house was built. A whole ground floor studio apartment with fully equipped kitchen big, private real Finnish wood burning sauna and big garden (olive grove ) + own parking We can meet guests upon arrival at the Athens Airport or Lavrio Port for a fee- As we live on site, we can arrange breakfast for you. We can help with info regarding: archeological sites in the greater area of Lavrio, Vraona and Marathon, various beaches, cafe's, traditional greek tavernas We can provide help for bird watching spots around South Attica peninsula. Explore fascinating world of olive oil and wine making. We can arrange for you to experience olive and grapes harvesting during early September to late November (depending on every years harvest period which can vary). Produce your own virgin olive oil with your friends. Visit one of the best olive oil facilities on Attica and do some olive oil sampling/ tasting together with an expert on the subject. Try different types of olive oil. Lear how to distinguish the different types of it. Hold it in your mouth for a while and suck in air through the corners of your mouth and then swallow it. If you feel a peppery tickle at the back of your throat then that it’s a sign of good olive oil. During September and October mini wine tours tasting can be arranged and also grapes hand picking harvesting or raki/ tsipouro distilling process (around November- December). The harvesting of wine grapes (Vintage) is one of the most crucial steps in the process of wine-making. The time of harvest ( you can participate in hand picking if you want ) is determined primarily by the ripeness of the grape as measured by sugar, acid and tannin levels with winemakers basing their decision to pick based on the style of wine they wish to produce. The weather can also shape the timetable of harvesting. Accessed by country roads only, this home is in a peaceful, picturesque part of Greece. Enjoy scenic walks in the area or take a short drive to nearby towns and beaches for delicious local cuisines and fun afternoons by the sea. Our place is situated 15 min drive from the nearest metro from which you can easily and quickly reach Athens centre, so own transport is strongly recommended. Own transport is 100% needed since we live in the countryside. Although our house is a solar powered eco house and totally off the grid a new fridge is provided in the apartment. Note! there is NO air condition but guests can use ceiling fan which is provided in the bedroom for the very hot days of the year. Important NOTE for winter period: There is a heating unit in our place for the very cold days/ nights of winter. - a 22 KW wood-burning stove. Bedding sets (Duvet- Double or singles ) and towels (even for the beach) are provided. We provide Nespresso coffee machine for our guest - coffee capsules at cost prices. In our place we use a central vacuum cleaner to keep the in-house living environment as clean as possible. FREE 4G internet connection for all guests who wish to work remotely The electric Piano is only available for musicians or music lovers who are staying longer periods !
