Island Time on Indian Lake

Our magical island getaway includes fishing, shuffle board, swimming, and seclusion. Sunroom, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, full kitchen, fireplace, upper deck, and 360 degree awesome lake views. Boat lift available for your Pontoon. This is the most remote island on Indian Lake. There is only one cottage on Turtle Shell Island, so you and your guests will truly get a once in a lifetime island experience. Beautiful lake views from every seat outdoors or in the sunroom. Magical is the word most people use to describe their time on Turtle Shell. Two bedrooms (one full and one queen bed) share a single bathroom with shower. This is an older remodeled cottage, and the bedrooms are cozy. One additional single bed and a pull-out king daybed are available in the living room. Fireplace is available. There is heat and air conditioning. Swimming, grilling and general relaxation are in order. Four cane poles are provided for fishing. There is a full length shuffle board court for a little friendly competition. There is also an upstairs balcony for sun bathing and wonderful views of the lake. Parking on the mainland is available at Fox Island. The island is only accessible by boat, and a pontoon boat lift is available to dock your boat. The host does not provide transportation to the island. The boat ride is a short one and easy to find with GPS. Your closest neighbor are catfish and saugeye with the mainland over a quarter mile away. Indian Lake is one of the premier State of Ohio lakes with great fishing, swimming and all around good times. Indian Lake has a great history, and Turtle Shell Island is no exception. The island was once owned by a silent movie star, then a priest, then a play boy, its history can be felt throughout the cottage. There is running water, but it is not drinkable. However, drinking water is available. If you are having more than 4 guests stay the night, we recommend bringing additional drinking water. Also, bring additional drinking water (in 2 Gallon jugs) if you plan on cooking water intensive food, eg boiling vegetables. There is a full kitchen and outdoor gas grill. A blender is also available because everyone loves a pina colada or tropical drinks when islanding. Parking on the mainland is available in Russells Point. We will provide the address once you've booked. You also may be able to park at the place you rent your boat. The island is only accessible by boat, and pontoon boats are available for rent from Spend-a-Day marina. A boat lift is available at the island for pontoons. Someone will be available via cell phone to answer any questions. We can also be available to meet you in most cases. Just call ahead to schedule a time to meet for your arrival. You can rent a pontoon boat from Spend-A-Day Marina by Fox Island State Park. There is running water, but it is not drinkable. However, drinking water is available.
