A cosy cabin located on the island of Justøy on the beautiful archipelago of southern Norway. A great place to get away from it all as it is in a private cabin precinct tucked in amongst the trees. The architectural cabin sleeps up to 12 people, has a large terrace with a Weber BBQ and table to enjoy the long summer evenings and also an outside jacuzzi. From the cabin you can walk over the rocks and through the forest to the private beach where our boat is kept which is just a short walk away. The famous village of Brekkestø is just a 5 minute boat trip from the jetty. Boasting the largest ice creams in Norway, it is a great place to stop for refreshments or fill the boat with petrol before continuing on a trip through the archipelago with its countless bathing places, naked rocks and sheltered coves. Further on is the famous Blindleia which is sheltered from the open sea. If you continue you will reach the idyllic town of Lillesand, famous for its white buildings and lovely village atmosphere. Here there are supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. It is a 20 minute drive to the zoo and Sørlands centre which is a huge shopping centre. The cabin is divided into three main sections making it perfect for more than one family to share. The main cabin has a lounge area, small but functional kitchen, dining table that can seat 12, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The second cabin has another smaller kitchenette, lounge area and a bedroom. There is a bedroom and a bathroom that open onto the terrace. The annexe at the rear of the property has one large bedroom. We also have a boat and kayak you can hire. There are plenty of life jackets for people of all sizes. There is also a large pot for cooking crabs with a gas burner. Norwegians love this area of Norway because it is known to have good weather in summer. There are many activities in the area. The local private sandy beach is a good place to swim and enjoy the sun. If you have a boat you can go and explore the islands take some firewood with you and make a fire to bbq some sausages or just take a walk over some of the islands and enjoy the tranquil beauty. For those that like fishing there are lots of fish and crabs in summer. In autumn it is also possible to catch lobsters. There are many possibilities for hiking in the local area and there are also some old German bunkers to explore. The cabin is easy to drive to from the airport or ferry terminal in Kristiansand. It is an easy 20 min drive for most of the way on the E18 motorway. If you are coming from Oslo it takes about 3.5 hours. There is space for a number of cars at the cabin and parking is free. The cabin is great for children. There is a large lawn with football goals and the kids love exploring the rocks the surround the house. For smaller kids its important to not that the bedrooms all have bunk beds. It is also designed for the great summer weather that we usually have in Brekkestø, however, when it does rain it´s important to know that you need to go outside to get between the cabins. If you are staying outside of the summer months, there is a fire in the main cabin you are able to use.
