Lovely pet friendly cottage in heart of Faversham

Truly unique and beautiful cottage on the most sought after street in Faversham. Minutes walk from Market Square and the fabulous Standard Quay. The back of the Grade 2 listed cottage dates from the 15th Century and the front from the 17th Century. Packed full of character with all the amenities you need for comfortable stay. The stairs are steep as expected from a cottage of this type so not really suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Bathroom is downstairs. We welcome well behaved dogs. The cottage has a lovely walled garden with outside eating area with a barbeque that you are more than welcome to use. Main bedroom has king sized bed and plenty of room for travel cot (not supplied). Faversham is a great place to wander around with loads of excellent places to eat and drink and is a great centre for walking and exploring Kent. Parking is on street outside and by permit which we will supply for one car. Abbey Street is in the very heart of Faversham and perfect for accessing the market and fantastic eating and drinking places. Everywhere is within walking distance. Car can be parked in the street outside and there is generally a space available, although sometimes not directly outside the cottage. Parking is by permit only and we supply daily permits for one car, which you will need to complete and display. The cottage is owned by Lindsay and Dave and we live on a barge in Standard Quay so are local for any issues. Dave will meet you at the cottage to hand over the key. This is a good time to ask any questions or for recommendations, or if you are happy to just take the key and find out by exploring for yourselves, that is perfectly fine. Dave is always just a phone call away if you need anything or have any queries. The Phoenix gastro pub is just opposite, the wine bar and famous Papa Bianco pizzaria a 5 minute stroll away on the Quay. Fabulous Posillipo Italian Restaurant is located just behind the property on the Creek. Walking to the Sportsman pub or even into Whitstable is about 4 miles (and you can get the train back!). Faversham station is about a 10 minute walk from the cottage. Faversham market on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday is a fabulous collection of stalls, including fresh meat, vegetables and bread If you want to travel by train, your host Dave can generally pick you up from the station with a bit of notice. Don't miss Hermann's Plaice on the Quay - fish lovers paradise wet fish shop. Faversham has many festivals and event through the year. Including the famous Hop Festival in Spetember and Brogdales Cider Festival in August. Regular bus to and from Canterbury is just down the road. From the station, a 10 minute walk away you can get out to Whitstable, Broadstairs or Margate. Regular trains also to Canterbury. London stations are less than an hour away. Visitors will be supplied with a parking permit that allows parking on the street outside. We just want to emphasis that this is a very old cottage and had low beams and steep stairs.
