Charming waterfront nature cottage near Amsterdam

Lovely private cottage with spectacular views very near Amsterdam and the famous historic Zaansche Schans. The cottage is situated in the typical historic village Jisp and overlooks a nature reserve. Discover the typical landscape and villages by bike, sup, in the hot tub or kayak (kayak is including). For nightlife, musea and city life the beautiful cities of Amsterdam, Alkmaar, Haarlem are close by. Lovely waterfront private cottage/studio with sweeping views. The house has a private terrace on the water with a wide view of the special nature reserve 'Het Wormer and Jisperveld' and a new addition: the hot tub with jacuzzi function (supplement, check availability before you book!) The cottage has a private bathroom, separate toilet and living room with open kitchen. The romantic sleeping area with a comfortable boxspring bed is on the mezzanine. Asian, African and Modern art from the owners collection add to the beauty and charm. The house is private and fully accessible. There is private access front through the garden and back via the waterfront terrace. Our house lies opposite, reached by a short walk through the garden were you will sometimes find our cats and Nina, our little friendly dog from Cuba. During the summer months we will use the terrace sometimes to go away with the boat or SUP. We live opposite the cottage and are always available for questions and tips. Our phone number is also available on the safety card in the cottage. We will be there when you arrive to hand over the key and show you around the cottage. Unless interaction with the owner is desired or required, our guests are free to enjoy a very private experience. We are always in for a chat and help you to explore the area and always happy to answer any of your questions. The house is situated in the beautiful natural surroundings of the Wormer and Jisperveld. The historic village has a restaurant but also in the surrounding villages you can find some good restaurants. From the cottage you can see many birds and the last remaining rancher carrying his cows by barge from pasture to pasture. For a day spa, you can can enjoy Fort Beemster, a wellness in a 18th century fort about 15 min by car. The famous Old Dutch 'Zaanse Schans' is within walking or biking distance. Across the water you can rent rowing boats. In the house there is a map with all the information at your disposal. Amsterdam, but also the beautiful cities of Hoorn, Alkmaar and Haarlem can be easily reached by bus or by train (30/40 minutes). There is a bus stop at 5 min walking distance. It runs every hour from Wormerveer station to Jisp. It takes about 45 minutes to get to Amsterdam by public transport and about 30 min by car. There is always plenty of parking space near the house. There are a ladies and gents bike available for Euro 5,- per person per day to discover Jisp, visit the Old Holland Zaanse Schans, the villages of Graft and De Rijp and enjoy the typical Dutch landscape at it's best. Check in is normally between 4 and 11 pm. We both work and sometimes we cannot be at home at the requested time. We will do our very best to accommodate our guests. We take care of your basic needs on arrival such as coffee (there is a Nespresso machine in the kitchen) and tea. The kitchen is fully equipped and offers olive oil and cooking herbs when you want to prepare your own dinner. On the terrace you can also find a bbq/fireplace. Breakfast On request we can make a luxury vegetarian breakfast (11 Euro p.p, a vegan option is also possible) Experiences & wellness We have a ladies and a men's bicycle available for our guests (euro 5,- per day per person). Our guests can book a wonderful massage with € 5 discount for our guests at massage practice Marialeonor next to the holiday home. For a real wellness experience at the waterfront, we heat the hot tub with jacuzzi for our guests, including bathrobes, wood, flip flops, towels, a bottle of prosecco and heating by the host (E85,- for two) Note: Please check before you book availability of the hot tub and usage of the hot tub is not possible with bad weather. Grocery Please note that there are no shops in Jisp! It might be easy to take some groceries with you on arrival. The nearest supermarket is in Wormer about 2 km away. For shopping our bikes are available, free of charge. When the weather is nice there is a 2 person kayak waiting for you (also included with your stay) to explore the beautiful wetlands. And last but not least, the house has of course free wifi. In the garden we keep 4 chickens, we have three cats and a little, very friendly dog we adopted from Cuba. She is very sweet and used to interact with people.
