The Old Piggery

The Old Piggery is a 5 minute walk to the beach with incredible views looking onto the river Stour estuary. As a recent conversion it has a modern, open plan layout with large French windows in both the living area and each bedroom, filling the house with natural light. A wood burning stove & underfloor heating create a cosy setting to relax & dine in. The huge windows fill the house with light and the view down to the river estuary is spectacular. There is an outdoor patio with table and chairs and a large grassy expanse looking down over farmland to the river. The main living area is open plan, leading onto the three bedrooms. All of these rooms are south facing with views down to the river. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a utility room next door with sink, washing machine and dryer. There is also a separate loo. The master bedroom has a super king size bed and en suite bathroom with bath and shower. The second bedroom has a king size bed and shares a bathroom with walk in shower with the third bedroom which also has a king size bed and a bunk bed. PLEASE NOTE: The bunk bed is for children only and if you need to use it please let us know when booking. There is a travel cot and high chair on request. All access apart from 2 private locked cupboards in the utility room. We are available by phone or (Hidden by Airbnb) if necessary, and there is a list of phone numbers in the house manual . The beach is a 10 minute walk away and there are other good walks in the vicinity. The Alton Water reservoir is at the other end of Stutton village, with sailing windsurfing and fishing amenities, and a cafe. You can also hire bikes from there and walk or cycle the 8 mile route round it The house is in the heart of Constable country so there are lots of sites to visit. Flatford mill and Dedham are well worth a visit and rowing boats can be hired from there. The local community shop is well stocked and only a 10 minute stroll away. There are 2 pubs within 10 minutes walk also, The Kings Head is our personal favourite. 10 minute drive to Manningtree station. There are direct trains to London Liverpool Street (1 hour) every 1/2 hour You need to run the water for a few minutes before it heats up.
