Jim's cottage is a traditional, brick and flint workman’s cottage built in 1845, located in a quiet cul-de sac. The cottage is a 5 minute walk from the centre of the town. “Jim’s” has lashings of romantic, original charm , however, it has fully fitted kitchen, refitted bathroom, Wi-Fi and gas central heating. It has been decorated throughout and furnished with new or antique furniture. All beds, bedding, cookware, crockery and soft furnishings are quality. The cottage and garden are fully serviced and linen, tea towels, bath mat and hand towel are provided. To keep the cost down, we do not usually provide personal towels, but this can be arranged if you need them. Gas, electricity, Wi-Fi and logs for the fire are included in the price. Children are welcome but pets and smoking are not allowed. Unlike most properties in Holt, there is plenty of parking on the lane at all times of year, usually right outside the cottage. There is a good sized garden and large outhouse, great for bikes etc.. The cottage, outhouse and garden are all yours. Parking is on the lane and you can normally park directly outside the door. We have been letting through Airbnb for 4 years and have been getting good reviews. However we have been letting the cottage since 2003 and have lots of regular guests. Holt is a great little Georgian town, ideal for a break at any time of year. There is so much to see and do, from stately homes to sandy beaches, bird-watching to surfing. Holt is just as much to do 'out of season' with a great selection of independent shops, boutiques, art galleries, craft shops, deli's, pubs, restaurants and tea rooms. The sea is 4 miles away at Cley next Sea and Blakeney. They are shingle beaches but there are sandy ones at Sheringham (6 mile) and Cromer (10 miles) There are buses to Norwich and Fakenham but you really need a car. We have a preserved railway that runs steam trains to Sheringham Please note that the stairs are steep and not suitable if you have mobility problems. The bathroom is situated downstairs
