In nearby Longor (5 minutes’ drive) you’ll find a couple more food serving pubs, a fish and chip shop and family run café, all set around a historic cobbled market square. The spa town of Buxton, famous for its spring water and iconic opera house, can be reached in just 10 minutes, and both Bakewell and Chatsworth House in about 20 minutes. The Hope Valley, including beautiful Edale, Castleton and the fascinating plague village of Eyam can be reached in around half an hour, as can Britain’s premier theme park, Alton Towers.
