Rural Retreat in Staffordshire

Stag’s Den is a luxury one bedroom flat surrounded by beautiful Staffordshire countryside. Well equipped and family friendly it makes an excellent base for exploring the local area - starting at its doorstep! Tastefully decorated & immaculately presented, the Den offers all the comforts of a home from home. Quality bed linen, fluffy towels, and a fully equipped kitchen with tea, specialty coffee, fresh milk and condiments awaits. The hosts support eco friendly tourism. Stag’s Den is a first floor flat, so guests need to be able to climb a flight of stairs. The bedroom contains a double bed and bunk beds. There is a travel cot and high chair available for use. A stair gate ensures the stairs are safe for our little visitors so parents can relax! There is use of a small garden area & orchard next to a lovely brook. Whilst the owners are usually not far away, the key is available via a key safe at the property. The hosts have a good knowledge of the surrounding areas and can help with restaurant reservations and suggests activities to suit your interests and the weather! Prestwood is a tiny hamlet surrounded by the beautiful Staffordshire countryside. The award winning Denstone Farm Shop is only a mile away. The market towns of Ashbourne & Uttoxeter are within a 10 minute drive, as are the popular attractions of Alton Towers & Peak Wildlife Park. There are lots of beautiful walks literally on the doorstep, including the beautiful Wootton Estate, the Weaver Hills & Dimmingsdale. There are some great local pubs to wine & dine and award winning restaurants. Venture slightly further afield and you’ll find the potteries of Stoke, the Peak District National Park, and the market towns of Leek, Bakewell and Buxton. Stag’s Den is situated about a mile from the nearest bus stop and 7 miles from the nearest train station (Uttoxeter). There are lots of good cycling routes from the property and numerous walks, including through the famous Wootton Park Estate with its beautiful Deer Park! We have two very friendly old Labrador’s Tasha & Darcy. We also have chickens and sheep who we can introduce to our little guests if they’d like!
