The Old Wash House Part of the Heathy Lea Collection Heathy Lea The Old Wash House is a cosy cottage with all of the modern touches you'd expect whilst conserving the historic features of an old wash house. The building had previously been used as a wash house for Heathy Lea House, and one of the pair of copper tubs, with the door to the fire underneath it, still remains as a feature in the large bathroom next to the original fireplace. The three Healthy Lea properties are converted from within the former eighteenth century farmyard at Healthy Lea on the edge of Chatsworth Park, with far-reaching views over this stunning parkland scene and hills beyond. The grounds of Healthy Lea open directly into the park where guests are free to walk any time (with their dogs on a lead) through the 1100 acres of Chatsworth Park which owes much of its appearence to Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. Look out for the abandoned millstones on the rock edges, the knarled oak woodland, and the resident herds of red and fallow deer as you walk the short distance (20-30 mins) to Chatsworth house & garden. The Heathy Lea Cottages can all be booked alongside each other providing accommodation for up to 8 guests. Dogs are welcomed at a rate of £25 per dog per stay, please advise our reservations team when making your booking that you shall be bringing a dog with you. There is a dishwasher and a large floor to ceiling glass double sliding door which allows direct access to the garden, The sofa in the living room also converts to a double sofa bed for occasional guests.
