Cosy, Peaceful Studio in the Surrey Hills

We are in the Surrey Hills AONB, 10 minutes from Godalming and 15 from Gomshall and Petworth. The garden overlooks miles of open fields, hills and woods stretching toward the South Downs National Park and south coast. Typically we welcome guests visiting family or for a wedding, for a UK tour, for summer work, a cycling trip or perhaps attending the annual Wings & Wheels airshow. Nearby are many National Trust sites including Black Down, Hydon Ball, Winkworth Arboretum and Petwork House. We are between two classic country villages in a very quiet and tranquil area. To the north is Loxhill with a white deer park and sunken Roman fort, and from which there is a beautiful view of the downs to the South-East. To the south is the South Downs National Park (AONB), and we are poised at a high point to see across them from the garden and your flat itself. The studio is on two floors with its own entrance, and you are of course at liberty to spend time in the garden as you wish. There are beautiful walks in all directions and the area is a favourite for ramblers and cyclists. Continental breakfast is included in the nightly price, and can be adapted if required as I shall be around most of the time. We like our guests to be happy and to enjoy their short breaks staying in our house, and you will be warmly welcomed when you stay here. We are opposite the 'white deer' park. White deer are bred and sent to other parts of Europe to re-populate White Deer colonies. There is a nice easy circular walk along a peaceful traffic-free country lane nearby. Our local church is unique in Britain and has wonderful 19C 'High Church' painted murals. The massive old English oak tree in my garden is reputedly 400 years old. Parking is safe and off-road on the drive. There are frequent trains via Godalming, Milford and Guildford to London and south toward Petersfield and Portsmouth. For reaching local villages guests are welcome to borrow a bicycle. Your own car is highly encouraged; otherwise you will need to use a taxi service or the (rather infrequent!) bus service. We are next to a road so cars do create some noise during rush hours.
