Plenty of space indoors and out in this beautifully restored old farmhouse in the French countryside. Big sitting room, spacious kitchen/diner/TV room, additional sitting room/study and 8 bedrooms. Relax on the paved terrace with a barbecue or wander through the extensive grounds and lovely gardens. Plenty of outdoor space, swings and trees to climb for the children. 2km to the nearest village with all the services you need, and charming towns, chateaux and villages to visit near by. 1.5 hours from the Normandy beaches, Bayeux or Le Mont St Michel. Wheelchair access available. Cots, high chairs and stair gates available - please let us know if you will need these before you arrive. UK and French TV plus broadband. Perfect for multiple or extended families. 7 bedrooms have double beds, and 2 of them have ensuite bathrooms. The 8th bedroom has 6 single beds, ideal for children. Outside, the terrace runs along the length of the back of the house, and provides plenty of space for outdoor eating and cooking. Outdoor tables, sunshades and chairs are provided. A gas barbecue is available, together with a firepit on a stand for the cooler evenings (wood available in the barn). There is parking for around 6 cars, including two undercover spaces in the open barn. The gardens are large, with mature trees and shrubs as well as herbaceous borders and plenty of grass. There are garden benches at various places throughout the gardens. There is a very small stream running through the property, as well as extensive lawns, paths and woods. There is a wildlife pond (fenced) which provides a nice place to sit and watch the dragonflies from the table and chairs on the adjoining decking. Le Petit Gonay is 2km from the village of Ceauce, which has a bakers, butchers, small supermarket, bar/restaurants, newsagent, bank and garage. The house is secluded and quiet, 800 metres down a private road, and surrounded by farmland. Local villages offer cycling, kayak/canoeing, swimming, walking, minigolf, gardens and chateaux to visit. The nearby village of Ambrières-les-Vallées provides a swimming pool, kayaking, mini golf, horse riding and other activities during the summer months, and slightly further afield are leisure parks such as Ange Michel and Festyland, zoos such as Champrepus, water parks such as Centre Aquatique at Condé-sur-Noireau and much more. Normandy is a beautiful county full of picturesque towns, chateaux and gardens.For day trips, you can visit the fabulous monastery on the island of Mont St Michel, the Normandy Landings beaches on the northern coast, the Bayeux tapestry, Le Mans, or the chateaux of the Loire valley. Broadband (ADSL), wifi, UK and French TV, Netflix, and a DVD player provide entertainment if there is bad weather. There are also various board games available for your use and an extensive library of books (English).
