Cozy, newly renovated cracker cottage 2 blocks from De Leon Springs State Park. Close to Deland. Pet Friendly! Grace has a metal roof, jalousie windows, a wood-fired stove, a front deck with rails wide enough to sit on, a swinging bed on the sunny, enclosed front porch, windows placed for cross-ventilation, a back deck and a sizable fenced backyard (safe for children and pets) with native flora. A train runs on the railroad track just behind Grace. The setting and cottage is owned by an artist and makes a perfect creative retreat for artists, writers and musicians. Grace's modern amenities include cable TV, Internet, fans in each room and a window AC/heating unit in the living room. Nearby De Leon Springs State Park is a 625-acre park that is home to a spring which feeds the Spring Garden Run, producing 19 million gallons of water a day at 72 degrees year-round. Visitors can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, bird watching, picnicking, fishing (a Florida freshwater fishing license is required) or hiking the 4.2-mile Wild Persimmon Trail or the half-mile paved Nature Trail. Canoes, paddleboats and kayaks are available for rent. The park’s paddling trail provides access to the 22,000-acre Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge, where adventurers can explore lakes, creeks and marshes. Visitors who take the 50-minute boat tour through the Lake Woodruff refuge will likely see alligators and numerous birds. Chuck Lennon Park is also very close by and offers sports courts. Grace Cottage is only 7 miles from Deland which is the home of Stetson University. Deland features interesting art and music venues as well as a variety of restaurants. This is a single family bungalow with fenced in back yard and privacy. A 175.00 damage deposit may be required which can be paid separately and held or refunded soon after the end of your stay. Also, there is a 75.00 cleaning fee.
