We offer our guests a small double-storey, self-catering thatched cottage with it's own fenced off garden separate to our home. There is a off-street parking space for one vehicle only. Close walking distance to the beach, exactly one street from the sea. It is ideal for a family or close friends. Strictly NO SMOKING allowed inside of the cottage. There are stairs by the parking area and also inside the cottage which would make it unsuitable for wheelchair dependent persons. Small children should be attended to at all times because of the stairs and also because of the pond at the back of the cottage. We do provide kiddie gates for the stairs. Please request if needed. The cottage consists of an upstairs bedroom, open-plan, with a double bed and a small reading lounge. Downstairs consists of a lounge with two single beds, couch, drawers, and fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with toilet and shower. There is a free-standing fan in the upstairs bedroom and a ceiling fan in the lounge/kitchen area for those hot summer evenings. There is a dining table outside on stoep/veranda. There are also 4 bar stools around the kitchen counter inside. All bedding/linen are provided including blankets. There is a stainless steel, free standing barbecue/braai for our guests to use at the back of our property. Please take care of where you place the barbecue/braai taking into account the cottage and the main house have thatch roofs and NEVER leave the fire unattended. For your safety and ours. I will be available at all times if I am needed as I live on the premises in the main house. The cottage is nestled in a beautiful peaceful garden setting. A place to relax and rest up. The sound of the ocean is near and the beach is a stone throw away. Beautiful sunsets are right on your doorstep to enjoy with a glass of wine on the upstairs veranda. Lamberts Bay is known as the Diamond of the West Coast. Lambert's Bay is famous for its long stretches of uninterrupted white beaches and abundant marine life which gathers in the cool blue waters. Take a relaxing daybreak and soak up the sun, surf the sparkling waves or enjoy a boat ride over the big blue bay. This gem of a seaside village owes its origin to humble beginnings as a fishing village, like most of the surrounding South African coast villages, but it has become one of the major tourist attractions on the West Coast due to its moderate all year climate. The Sandveld Museum is a must with the history of the area. Lambert's Bay is also jam-packed with plentiful bird life. Some of the more popular species on the list include Gannets and Cormorants found on our Bird Island. Dolphins, whales and the ever entertaining seals at the internationally acclaimed Bird Island attract tourists from all over. Heavy-side dolphins are frequently spotted from the beaches. Lambert's Bay is also a great place to view the lush stretches of flora.. blommetjies!..that are most beautiful during springtime. A time when our dry landscape becomes a symphony of colour. All accessible by car or within walking distance from our cottage.! No smoking allowed inside the cottage. There is smoking allowed on the outside veranda/patio/stoep. Check-in is anytime after 2PM Check out by 10AM - Strict no noise policy after 23:00pm. No loud music will be tolerated. Pet friendly to dogs who are sociable and don't dig in the garden or swim in the pond. I prefer minimum two dogs. Please to bring all bedding for your pets and bowls as I do not provide these. No pets allowed on the beds and furniture! Pets are to be attended to at all times and not to be left unattended for long periods of time.
