Beautiful cottage in the heart of Wensleydale

Wharton Cottage is a charming three bedroom cottage in the centre of Askrigg, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We are very excited to offer this cottage as a BRAND NEW RENTAL!! Our beautiful cottage dates back to before (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and was once part of a coach house. Downstairs boasts a comfortable living room with open fire and two sofas; a kitchen with dining table and washing machine; and a W.C. Upstairs, you’ll find three bedrooms and the main bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. The master bedroom has a super-king sized bed which can be separated into two single beds if required. This bedroom also hosts spectacular views of the Wensleydale fells from the window. Bedrooms two and three look onto the village below. Bedroom two has a double bed and bedroom three has a single daybed which expands into a king bed if required. Please let us know the arrangements you require for each room and we will prepare the beds accordingly for your arrival. Outside, to the front of the property there is a lovely lawned garden with a bench where you may like to enjoy a picnic in the sun. To the rear of the property you have a south facing paved courtyard with a table, chairs and a barbecue. This area is secure and therefore suitable for pets who want to stretch their legs or soak up the sun. Here, you can enjoy views over the village to Addlebrough. We offer free parking a few minutes walk from the cottage. There is also a secure outdoor shed where you may store bicycles if required. We are happy for you to bring children and dogs and we have a highchair, travel cot and foldable bath available to make your stay with children more comfortable. However, because of the extra cleaning often involved, we ask for a £10 supplement per dog per stay. Please feel free to call us or email your needs and we will try to accommodate you and your party. Wharton cottage is situated in the centre of the village, moments walk away from various amenities including three pubs, several cafes, a local store and a playground. The village itself is the epitome of the Yorkshire Dales. It was the setting for the popular ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ series and the views are idyllic. Whether it’s a quiet countryside getaway, a walking holiday, cycling trip or rural adventure - Askrigg is perfect! Situated within the heart of Wensleydale, you’ll be in the perfect place to explore Wensleydale, Swaledale and the many beautiful villages in the area. Within a short drive, you can reach a number of beautiful spots, including the market town of Hawes which is home to Wensleydale creamery, Semerwater lake and Aysgarth falls. If you don’t have a car, you’re spoilt for choice for walks in the village itself. There are lots of public footpaths of varying lengths but our personal favourite is a walk which starts five minutes from the cottage and takes you to Mill Gill waterfall, a hidden gem in an extremely secluded spot.
