Bungalow in the woods ideal for small children

My Holiday Bungalow is located near the small village Bräsen (Anhalt) in the nearby woods. The area is stunningly beautiful and is part of the greater nature reserve area of Fläming. The access to the Bungalow is by its own road thru the woods and via a small bridge over the stream forming the Southern border of the property. Parking is possible in the woods near the South side of the property. A small lake located only a few meters to the East is popular for fishing and swimming. The bungalow resembles a remarkable reminiscent of the DDR “Do It Yourself- without tools and know-how or building materials” attitude. When Erich Honecker stated “Aus unseren Betrieben ist noch viel mehr rauszuholen!“ during a SED communist party convention in 1981 it was intentionally misunderstood by a lot of DDR citizens “that it they should take whatever they could out from their place of work in a DDR VEB ( Volks-eigener Betrieb = belonging to the works company). Since it seemed more or less senseless to actually work in a DDR VEB it was very well possible to fabricate something or for your home or you bungalow in the woods…..the result was the demise of the DDR economy and the rise of this artifact way of DDR building. The ceiling elements, sliding doors, or garden swing etc. are unique DDR handicraft as well as the main building structure. The furniture as well as other kitchen items are original DDR VEB production that have been discarded from most other homes. Since it was not possible to buy materials or order builders in the DDR it is a small wonder that the former owner could set it up and for over decades it resembled a highly desired property estate in the Soviet Block that most citizens of the DDR could never afford and only dream of. If you fancy a venture to the past DDR and live a few days as in the past DDR including the “DDR- Mief” (smell of DDR furniture, brown coal and creosote) its may be something for you. However if you are favor a place with straight walls, floor and ceilings made out of the standard mass fabricated building materials of modern mass fabrication you may find yourself in the wrong place.
