Welcome to Flat 2 - A modern ground floor maisonnette with parking space for one car and its own front door. It has a cosy, modern living space, fully equipped galley kitchen, separate double bedroom and bathroom with over bath shower. All the furniture is new including a pocket sprung double mattress. There is a sheltered patio area to the rear which catches the afternoon and evening sun. Included are free broadband WiFi, smart tv, fridge freezer, washing machine and cosy underfloor heating. Everything you might need for a short or longer stay can be found, from cooking utensils, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, water, welcome biscuits. A hairdryer, iron and board, airer, DVD player with selection of dvds, luxury toiletries etc. are also available. We live literally half a mile away so if you need anything just say! We are both locals so can give you lots of suggestions for things to do and see. The flat is in a quiet residential area next to the railway and is within easy level walking distance to Newbury Racecourse, the town centre, train and bus stations, a large Sainsburys, Victoria Park, Kennet and Avon Canal and Greenham Common. For those here for work, it is a short walk to the Vodafone HQ bus route and the Hambridge Road industrial area. Local attractions include Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey), Watership Down, Newbury Racecourse, Donnington Castle, Snelsmore Common, Greenham Common. Hungerford with its array of antique shops and arcades is just down the road, and Winchester, Oxford, Reasing and Southampton are within easy reach. The main line Penzance to Paddington line is within 10 minutes walk. Lots of local taxi companies serve the area and we are 10 minutes from the M4 Junction 13 and close to larger towns and cities: Oxford, Reading, Swindon, Winchester, Basingstoke being the nearest. The quaint antiques centre of Hungerford is 20 minutes drive. Newbury itself is a fascinating historical town with several shopping areas, a cinema, three theatres (Corn Exchange in town, the Watermill in Bagnor and Arlington Arts at Snelsmore) plus there is an abundance of restaurants and coffee houses to choose from. Linen and towel change will not be included. However, if you are staying for more than a few nights, we can arrange for this at an additional cost. Please contact us for more information.
