Our annex sits above our garage with its own private entrance, bedroom & private bathroom, king size bed, quality bedding, bathroom with a separate walk in shower, bateau bath, toiletries, towels, hairdryer, WC & basin, table, TV, fridge, kettle, coffee, toaster, WiFi, cool fan, hangers & drawers. Unfortunately much as we love them, we are not suitable for children, babies or dogs. Please note we are a totally no smoking or vaping premises. No additional people permitted. Our location is very peaceful, picturesque next to the village church ( the clock chimes hourly and every couple of weeks, you might be lucky enough to hear the bell ringing practice) and surrounded by superb cycling or riding countryside. Despite being on "Main Street" you will only see a few tractors and cars go by. We are only a few miles from Rutland Water (ideal for bird watching or water sports). We will be available and contactable during your stay for your peace of mind. The space * Private space with own entrance (via 4 wooden steps with substantial handrail) * King size bed with good quality linen * Decorated in clean crisp whites and blues. * The bathroom has been newly installed in 2018 * Contains a bateau bath, shower, toilet, heated towel rail and basin. * There is a large cooling fan summer nights. * We offer a light breakfast in our price, which includes cereals and bakery goods. * You have a toaster plus tea and coffee making facilities en suite. * There is a small fridge where we store milk, juice and yogurts for your breakfast. * Please note there are no cooking facilities in the annex. * You will find an information folder in your room giving details of local pubs and restaurants which we recommend or I can email these to you before you visit. There are no pubs or restaurants in the village. You can walk just over a mile to our nearest pub but if you are happy to drive at least 10 minutes you will have a large choice of places. * There is a television and a chair which can be used for breakfast or working on a laptop (we offer free WiFi). * We have private off road parking * We are a no smoking/vaping zone * Please note we cannot accept children, babies or animals. Much as we love them all, the room is not suitable and we do not make exceptions. The famous Rutland–Melton International CiCLE Classic road bicycle race passes directly in front of our house and you have a fabulous view of the action. There are great gastro pubs in the nearby villages and we are close to Oakham and Melton Mowbray, both of which have stations (approximately 10 minutes drive). We are 5 miles from Stapleford Park Country House and Ladywood Estate, so convenient for wedding guests who are not staying at the venues. If you are an avid bird watcher, enjoy cycling, walking, sailing and other water sports, then Rutland Water is the place for you to visit. Our nearest stations are either Oakham or Melton Mowbray. I can provide you with the number of the local taxi company on request. It is worth noting that if you want to use a taxi on Thursday/Friday/Saturday evenings, I highly recommend that you book in advance as soon as you know your plans, as they get very busy. Guest access Although our check-in time says from 4.00 until 7.00 pm, if we can be flexible given enough notice we will try to help you out, although we can't promise - it depends what else is going on and if we have plans for the evening ourselves. You can have access to the rear garden which has a large wooden table and chairs, great for a glass of wine on summer evenings. Please note that our no smoking/vaping policy extends to the garden as well as the annex. Other things to note Please note that mobile reception can sometimes be patchy in our area. 4G is usually fine. EE gets great service apparently and I use O2. WiFi is fine for general emails and browsing the Web. Our internet in the annex works for emails and general browsing, but is not suitable for streaming etc. We are a totally no smoking area, both in the annex and gardens (this includes vaping).
