Character cottage in a quiet rural village

Situated in a beautiful village renowned for its local walks & countryside. This character cottage has all the modern home comforts, hand built kitchen, walk-in rain shower, oak doors, parquet floors, wood burner, large garden & parking for 3 cars or long wheel based van. A 10 minute drive from the M1 & A1, it's great for couples, friends & business travellers or those attending courses at The Welbeck Estate. The village pub is only a short drive or 20 min walk. You will see from the images that some of the house is still in the process of being renovated, with the main rooms mainly full renovated just a few finishing off bits to do. The cottage garden is home to five free range chickens who are very friendly and provide fresh eggs each morning. Standard check in is 4pm and check out is 10am. I can accommodate earlier check ins and later check outs, for a small additional fee. This needs to be booked in advance please. Front of house: Large private drive and car port. Guests have use of the entire cottage Booking for the house is done on an entire basis and I am always close by incase you need help with anything. The cottage is situated in a small village of c47 houses, within a conservation area. At night there is very little light pollution and the view of the stars from the garden is amazing. The area has a wide variety of birds including woodpeckers, sparrow hawks, Goshawks, Buzzards & Red Kites. The garden is visited by a wide range of wildlife including birds, squirrels, pheasants, frogs & at night hedgehogs & owls. Public transport is very limited in the village. You are best to have transport. The garage will take space for a small car & bike storage. Drive way has parking for 3 cars. There are many beautiful walks within the area and many cafes which are only a short walk or drive away. Please note this is a self catering book, for the entire cottage. The Chickens live in the garden, and free roam, you have an option to put the chickens away at night & let them out in the morning. You just need to close the door of the coop, the chickens put themselves to bed! Or the option for me to have side access to the garden via a padlocked gate (I will not need to come in the house) and I will put them away for you, and let them out in the morning.
