A large double room in a recently restored period farmhouse with ensuite bathroom. Our Grade II listed home is in the quiet village of Claypole, just 4 miles from the historical town centre of Newark. Ideally situated for the International Antiques Fair, Newark Showground, Eden Hall, Stubton Hall and less than 2 miles from the A1 giving easy access to Lincoln, Grantham and Nottingham. With off-road parking, wifi and a continental breakfast included we offer all guests a warm welcome. We welcome couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. We are only a 10 minute drive from the Newark Showground that hosts regular antiques fairs and other national shows. Other attractions in the area include the historic town of Southwell, Newark Castle, the National Civil War Centre, Newark Air Museum, Belvoir Castle, Belton House and Kelham Hall. Bedroom accommodation is upstairs with access downstairs to the kitchen living area and relaxed dining room where the continental breakfast is served. We both work from home and are usually available to offer help and advice to our guests throughout their stay. Claypole is a small and friendly village only 3 miles from Newark that has a history dating back to the 1300s, as recorded in the Doomsday book. As well as the gothic church there is a well-stocked village shop that opens every day, a butcher and is close to both the A1 and A46. Supermarkets, take-aways and restaurants are located only 2 miles down the road. We have a friendly and calm miniature schnauzer who loves a cuddle, but is also very happy sleeping in his bed if you don't like dogs and choose to ignore him.
