Cornish cottage with sea views - St Just
Located in the middle of a terrace of similar cottages, with fabulous sea views, Trewerry Cottage is a charming, much loved, cosy, traditionally built granite, former miner’s cottage, sleeping four people in two bedrooms, with capacity for a fifth person. Perfect for a small family or group, the cottage is in a very quiet position, only a short walk to the town centre behind the cottage or to the coastal footpath in front. With brand new double-glazed UPVC windows and new carpet fitted throughout, white painted walls, original Cornish and family paintings, studio-ware pottery and Welsh blankets, small garden front and back, and wonderful views to the sea – Trewerry Cottage offers the perfect holiday retreat. Trewerry is ideally situated, combining outstanding west-facing views over farmland and across fields to the coast and distant Isles of Scilly, while being only a five minute walk into the charming town of St Just which has excellent shops, art galleries, pubs and cafes. The main line train service terminates at Penzance and buses can take you from there to St Just. Open top buses go to St Ives, and to the wonderful beach at Sennen. A few miles away, you can fly to the Scilly Isles or take the ferry. We welcome short breaks. Prices vary on the time of year and are higher during the school holidays when we prefer to let for a minimum of 5 days, but always try to be flexible - so please ask. We are always happy to answer any questions by email or phone. Guests can access all areas of the property I live in London and am therefore not on hand to offer local support. However, I am always at the end of the phone or email. Pat, who looks after the cottage and garden, lives close by and is on hand in case of urgent questions or emergency. Pat is also incredibly helpful and is a font of local knowledge if you find a mutual time for her to drop by for a cup of coffee! The area is a World Heritage Site due to the importance of this former mining area. The location is perfect for walkers, birdwatchers, painters and art lovers, and for all who appreciate the coastline and beaches of West Penwith. The spectacular rocky coves and cliffs of Cape Cornwall and Cot Valley are less than a mile away. Sennen Beach, St Ives and the Tate Gallery, Geevor Mine, Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole are all within an easy drive. We are very lucky to have only a footpath in front of the cottage which backs straight onto fields and down to the sea with wonderful views. When you arrive with your luggage or shopping you can drive a car along the narrow back lane and drop off your bags at the back of the cottage and carry them into the house from there through the back garden. Otherwise you will need to park for free on Cape Cornwall Road and carry your bags to the front of the cottage along the footpath. Trewerry Cottage is about half way along Pleasant Terrace. We are sadly no longer accepting pets.
