The full bath offers you an amazing Whirl pool tub to sooth you at the end of your day and an invigorating shower with plenty of water pressure. Body wash is available during your stay as well. The Den/Living room offers the warmth and ambiance of a fire place although during the summer months you'll probably want to spend more time outdoors.....a relaxing deck with gazebo and outdoor dining and BBQ Grill is located off the Theater Room. The Theater Room is my "Happy Place" and here you will find a 65" TV with streaming, DVD player, and again, whole home Wifi. A fun movie collection offers plenty of entertainment while you lounge and relax on the wall to wall La-Z-Boy sofa with reclining seats. Movie Posters dress the walls of this favorite room and offer a nostalgic feeling of fun! AND, this area features an Infared Sauna with optional light therapy to detox you after your workout... oh and a 40" Smart TV too.......speaking of TV - some people bring their own Fire Stick but it is available! Also located on this level is the laundry area with two large laundry tubs (for any hand washed items) and a large front loading washer and dryer - washer and dryer are available for guests staying seven days or more! Available for your convenience are plenty of hangers and laundry soap although some guests have preferred to use their own laundry soap. Iron and Ironing board are available too! As a guest in my home you have access to every room except my private bedroom and my office. (upon entry, shoe are left on a mat in the foyer) Free parking on the street! If you are staying for an extended stay you are more than welcome to park in the driveway while you unload your items. During the winter months it will be necessary for you to park in the driveway to avoid the street snow plowing. To welcome you, I will be available to check you in and give you a tour of my home. I'm excited to have you as a guest but I totally respect your private time. I will do my best to ensure that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. It is important to me to offer a safe and comfortable space. I am a "people person" and my intention in life is to always make a difference! I treat people with care and kindness. I am currently semi-retired and my profession as an Oncology Massage Therapist, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Certified Wellness Life Coach was an extremely fulfilling part of my life. I still offer wellness coaching on a part-time basis from time to time. Some of my interests are cooking and baking, movies, reading, sewing, knitting, therapy coloring, crafting, games, Wii, puzzles, and decorating & design is a hobby that I love. Family and friends are most important to me and I always look forward to making new friends through my Airbnb adventure. I can't wait to meet you! My home is located in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood and is very safe for walking! Located to easy access freeways such as I-275, I-96 and M-14 will take you to just about anywhere you want to go. My home is only 7 blocks away from the Hines Park Trail/Rouge River Gateway/Greenway. This park is an amazing 19.5 mile connection between many Greater Detroit Metro areas stretching from Dearborn to Northville. You will find plentiful picnic facilities, gazebos, sports fields, exercise equipment, ponds, playgrounds, restrooms, and lots of parking along the way. Hines Park is home to the Historic Nankin Mills and of course boundless nature and wildlife including lots of turtles. You can bike, walk, run or jog, skate and even paddle boat and fish from Newburg Pointe......there are exercise stations and simply loads of outdoor activities in Hines Park. You will definitely enjoy staying just blocks away from this wonder land of nature! From my home, you can actually walk to downtown Plymouth if you don't mind a good walk. It's only 5 minutes by car but probably 15 by foot - great exercise - I have plenty of bottled water on hand to keep you hydrated! As I mentioned earlier, my home is just 5 minutes from downtown Plymouth (my home is actually located in Plymouth Township which surrounds the City of Plymouth including Old Town Plymouth) where you'll find plenty of great boutique type shops and a variety of amazing restaurants and night life fun such as breweries and pubs. While you enjoy the many activities offered by this active quaint community such as free concerts "In The Park" every weekend during the summer months, you just might want to kick back and relax around the infamous Kellogg Park Fountain with an ice cream cone or your favorite Starbucks. The historic Penn Theater hugs the park and offers movies at a great price! If you love the big city but want the relaxation of a small town.....Plymouth is only 25 minutes from Downtown Detroit, where you can enjoy three casinos, (Greek Town Casino, Motor City Casino and my favorite, The MGM Casino) there is also Greek Town, Mexican Town, Mid-town, and Cork Town with no shortage of amazing food to eat, and things to do and see. If music is your thing, take in a concert at the new Little Caesars Arena, Chene Park, Orchestra Hall, the Gem theater, the Fillmore or the Fox Theater; just to name the main venues. There is no shortage of venues for music or shows! In fact, there is always something going on in downtown Detroit - known as the "D" that should spark your interest! The Detroit Institute of Arts (The DIA) along with many other of Detroit's museums will keep you busy for days. Be sure to visit the Motown Museum! If you love sports, the "D" is the place to be with Comerica Park - home to the Detroit Tigers, Ford Field - home to the Detroit Lions, and Little Caesars Arena home to the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Pistons. One of my favorite places to visit on a Saturday morning is the Historic Eastern Market (I absolutely love Eastern Market and I can share all about it with you because you won't want to miss it!) And, don't forgot to try one of Detroit's famous coney island hot dogs where you will find two famous places right next to one another (Lafayette Coney Island and American Coney Island have competed for years) plenty of onions and chili on top is a must! There is absolutely dining and night life galore in the Downtown Detroit areas and plenty of great sights to see including Detroit's River Walk where you can view Windsor, Canada right across the river. Back to a stone's throw from and very near Plymouth.... To the North, Plymouth meets the City of Northville and then more North, Northville meets the City of Novi...Plenty to do in both places! Northville is quaint small town shops and restaurants, outdoor markets, etc... (Very upscale and Artseee so to speak) located there are three of my favorites - Guernsey's Dairy, Cantoro's Italian Market and the Big Box Costco store where they use to offer plenty of free food samples to entice shoppers to buy items they had no intention of purchasing - LOL - most guests may not be interested in Costco unless you are here for awhile - but one never knows! Northville is another great place to explore! Novi is more city-like with BIG shopping offering you Twelve Oaks Mall and several other big shopping complexes where you could literally shop until you drop! You can access these areas by way of I-275 North or you can travel North on Haggerty Road located just five blocks west of my home (although Haggerty Road does jog at Plymouth road - OR you can travel by way of the picturesque Hines Park Drive - I can tell you more about that later). By the way, Haggerty Road is a plethora of great restaurants and some shopping too, while offering one of the few major book stores still around....Barnes Noble. To the South of Plymouth (again just a stone’s throw away) is the City of Canton where you will find the Ford Road Shopping district along with the famous, IKEA store where folks come from all over the state and Ohio too, just to shop! Again, so many restaurants for your dining enjoyment! A stone's throw East of Plymouth is Livonia where you will find more shopping namely Laurel Park Mall and you won't want to miss exploring The Town Peddler Craft and Antique Mall. Let us not forget about THE BIG HOUSE, the University of Michigan and all that Ann Arbor has to offer - just 20-30 minutes to the west of Plymouth - too much to say to even begin to write about Ann Arbor - it's a fabulous college town to visit without paying higher prices to actually stay in Ann Arbor. Also to the West is the town of Chelsea where you can enjoy very small town ambiance and Chelsea is the home to the Purple Rose theater founded by the Actor, Jeff Daniels. Also Chelsea is long time home to the Jiffy Mix Plant where they offer a free one hour tour consisting of an educational and informative video presentation, a product sample, and refreshments and a walk through specific public areas. Other areas of interest nearby are: The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn (20-25 minutes) Belle Isle Island (30 minutes) The Detroit Zoo (located in Royal Oak - 30-35 minutes) Tour the Ford Motor Company River Rouge Plant (30 minutes) Plenty of nearby Antique Malls in all directions In fact, I can supply you with so many suggestions.....you will not have a lack of things to do or places to see.....enough said for now - looking forward to sharing all these exciting things to do and places to see! Host especially welcomes business and corporate travelers and those with long term work assignments, Interns and Grad students....additional discounts available for long term stays. Your Host, (that would be me, Barbara Jean) is a Detroit Native and I know Detroit like the back of my hand so to speak. I love Detroit and the Greater Metro area and I can recommend a variety of places to enjoy and see.....restaurants, sports, tours, museums, concert venues, night life, historic areas and churches, shopping, etc.....what do you want to experience? I love the adventure of travel too and I've seen many wonderful places not only in the United States but I have traveled to Europe several times as well and to many beautiful tropical islands. I have enjoyed many cities and villages in Italy, England, Austria, Greece, Egypt, Israel, and Russia. Please note, if an additional guest stays (two of you), there will be an additional $10.00 per day charge I hope to see you soon.......happy travels!
