The Anchorage, Angmering-on-Sea, West Sussex
A delightful, well-proportioned house which is full of character and great for seaside breaks and family get-togethers. With only 60 seconds' walk to the wide-open, uncrowded beach and 4 mins walk to the restaurants, cafes, convenience stores and pubs in the friendly local village, this detached (4 double bedroom house) in the exclusive Angmering-on-sea estate is a South Coast treasure for those seeking some quality time together. We love it here and hope you will too! The Anchorage has 3 reception rooms and 4 double bedrooms (two of which are twin beds and one of the double bed rooms is en-suite) with off-street parking at the front and a spacious pebble garden at the rear. There is a downstairs shower room which is handy when guests return wet and sandy from the beach and a utility area with separate washer and dryer. There is also an external boiler room which can be used to store wetsuits (which are not particularly needed in the mid-late summer on the south coast!). There is a big selection of board games in the house for hours of indoor fun. You will have access to the whole house and front and rear gardens. Access to the garden shed can be arranged in advance too. The Anchorage has off-road parking for up to 3 cars with one permit for a further car parked on the road. The Angmering-on-sea estate is a lovely private estate which was built originally as a garden village on the south coast and forms part of East Preston village which has Angmering rail station with direct links to Brighton, Portsmouth, Gatwick airport and London. It's located right on the coast - east of Littlehampton/ Rustington and west of Worthing/Goring. It's a lovely neighbourhood with very friendly residents who enjoy time on the beach or on the long glorious walks west and east along the seaside which are a favourite with everyone (dogs love them too!). Just outside the estate (and only a few mins walk from The Anchorage) there are several pubs, restaurants, cafes, takeaways and convenience stores (all in the plural!). Also, West Sussex has lots to offer and many attractions are only a short drive, rail or bus journey away. Examples of attractions within 30 mins drive include Arundel Castle, the Goodwood estate and Worthing esplanade and pier. With all it's glory, Brighton takes a little longer to drive to although lots of trains go there directly. You can even visit the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard by train or by car in about 45 mins. The Anchorage has off-street parking for up to 3 vehicles and a permit for an additional vehicle to be parked on the road. The nearest train station (Angmering) is 5 mins drive or 20-25 mins walk and has very frequent trains to lots of locations. There is a minicab office at the train station. The 700 Coastliner bus also serves the village and the nearest bus stop is 12-15 mins walk from The Anchorage. We have lovely neighbours in close proximity and we therefore ask guests to refrain from being outside in the garden after 11pm.
