Set in the grounds of a pretty, historic, thatched cottage, Pennyfathers Annex offers the perfect base to explore the surrounding Bedfordshire countryside and Barton hills with easy access to London and Cambridge and a short drive from Woburn Abbey, Wrest park and Bletchley Park. There are Pubs and Restaurants in the local villages, some just a walk away. We can even offer pre and post flight relaxation and parking for your time away, as we are a short taxi ride from Luton Airport. The annex is a large, bright airy contemporary space with a recently refurbished shower room and bijou kitchen and driveway parking space. Guests have exclusive use of a pretty veranda and large west facing garden where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and when the hedges are not in leaf the stunning views of the surrounding countryside and wildlife. Separate covered entrance and driveway parking space. Your hosts live in the cottage and will be happy to help whenever possible. We are perfectly placed across the road from a farm shop, hairdressers and nail bar, with local post office and Co-op and Budgens nearby. We have a variety of village pubs, Gastro pubs and restaurants between 10 and 30 mins walk away, and the historic market town of Ampthill just 3 miles up the road. Barton Hills National Nature Reserve and the RSPB headquarters at Sandy are easily accessible with plenty of other parks and walks connecting us with other north Bedfordshire villages, each with their own unique history. There are a range of museums nearby celebrating the life and works of John Bunyan, The Panacea Society, Bletchley Park and the Enigma Machine of WWII, Wardown Museum, De Grey Mausoleum and so much more such as Xscape (cinema, bowling etc) at central Milton Keynes, Woburn Safari Park, Wrest Park, Gullivers Dinosaur and Farm Park. Easy access to A1M, M1 and A6, Railway service Bedford to London St Pancras is a 5 min drive away in Flitwick. We have a bus service every 30 mins, which goes to Bedford, Ampthill and Flitwick train station.
