The Stables, Goosehill Hall, Castleton

One of four recently refurbished stone-built cottages overlooking fields and hills of the Peaks. Modern fittings (including high speed wi-fi) set within original features. In the grounds of a 17thC manor house, we are minutes away from the many facilities in Castleton. The Stables has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. You will also find our other cottages, the Barn, the Coach House and the Gardener's Cottage on AirBnb - ideal for larger groups and families. The Stables sits in the grounds of Goosehill Hall. It is part of an old complex of farm buildings and was, most recently a garage for a Bentley with a flat upstairs. It has been transformed into a well fitted cottage with old features such as beams retained in the renovation and modern fittings. A number of windows give views of the adjacent fields (and the sheep). Upstairs the skylights give unique views of the hillside. Downstairs, the Stables is open plan. Upstairs there are three bedrooms (one double and twin). The double has an en suite shower room. Guests have the cottage to themselves. The cottage has its own secure cycle storage. The owners or a member of staff will be on site, or readily accessible via phone. Castleton is a village in the heart of the Peak District, famous for show caverns and Peveril Castle. For the more active there is easy access to much walking and cycling. For the self caterer there are two village stores, one of which also bakes bread. The village also boasts six pubs, a restaurant and various coffee shops. Castleton has an hourly bus service to Sheffield. There is a railway station at Hope (Derbyshire), 2.5 miles from Castleton. Penny's Cars is a local taxi firm who can provide transport if needed. We have conducted a full risk assessment in the light of the Coronavirus pandemic. We have amended the cleaning protocol accordingly to include all necessary sanitising, using properly accredited cleaning products. In order to minimise the risk of virus transmission we have removed some high risk items from the cottages and we have changed some of the ways in which we will do things.
