Berry Cottage - central Beccles, secluded garden.

A comfortable retreat in the centre of Beccles conservation area. This small period property was fully renovated in 2019 to provide an open plan, bright and cosy living space, a well equipped kitchen and three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. Welcome drinks and snacks provided. Berry Cottage is in the centre of Beccles on a busy road. You can easily stroll out to one of the many independent shops or eating places. Parking is readily available at a large public carpark just 100 yards away. Arrive any time after 3pm using the keypad and key-safe. Private entrance behind Oliver & J shop. The gate to Berry Cottage is at the end of a short covered walk way between Oliver & J jewellery and Beccles Car shop. It is dark at night but we will leave the outside lights on and it is only 15 yards to our gate. Through the gate, you are in the secluded garden which has steps up to the lawn and patio. Small conservatory with step into open plan living area. Patio doors to garden. 40 inch Smart TV and Blu-ray player. Fully equipped kitchen including microwave, oven with grill, toaster, coffee maker, dish washer, washing machine/tumble dryer, and fridge-freezer. We have tried to provide most equipment for cooking. Steep stairs to 3 bedrooms - king size bed, double bed, and a smaller room with 2 single beds. The smaller room is usually made up with a single bed but a second single can be added next to the other bed if requested - this will reduce floor space in the room. Two bathrooms - one with a shower, WC and basin, the other with a bath, WC and basin. Both bathrooms have sloping ceilings so that tall guys will need to crouch or sit down on the toilets! Please note that as the cottage is in the centre of Beccles, there can be some road or passer-by noise in the front bedrooms at busy times. You may also notice some noise from the shop below when it is open. The house is fully double glazed and insulated. The garden is mainly laid out to lawn with borders and a patio area with seating. There is a small wildlife pond. A log cabin at the end of the garden provides a safe place for 2 bikes if required. Unfortunately, there is no car parking at Berry Cottage. Car parking is readily available in the nearby public carpark. It costs £4 per day in cash and is free in the evening from 6pm to 8am. Payment can more easily be made using the RingGo app on your phone and costs £4.20 per day. Berry Cottage is easily accessible by car or train - we are a 10minute walk from the station. There are bus stops on Blyburgate within 100 yards. All the building and garden. We are usually available if required at any time as we live in a village just outside Beccles. We have lived here for 30 years. We will provide contact details on booking. Beccles is a thriving market town with many varied independent shops and restaurants. It is ideally placed to explore the Suffolk and Norfolk coast and countryside, and is know as the 'Gateway to the Norfolk Broads'. In the summer, a visit to the outdoor Lido is popular or a boat trip on the River Waveney. A short drive can take you to one of our unspoilt beaches, National Trust forests and period buildings, or RSPB Minsmere. Or you can explore the surrounding interesting area including Southwold and Norwich. Beccles and the surrounding area is a great place for walking and cycling. There is a half hourly bus to Norwich and Lowestoft with a stop about 200yards away from Berry cottage. There is an hourly train service from Beccles station to London - the station is within easy walking distance. We have listed the cottage as "No Children" because we have stairs to the bedrooms and bathrooms, and a small wildlife pond in the garden. If your children are a little older (at least 5 years old) and can manage stairs and are reliable with a pond, we will consider your booking - please contact us.
