Tumu's place
My home is simple, warm and welcoming to all; irrespective of age or back ground. It is child friendly and suitable for pets too. The decor in the house is an African print theme but not overpowering. There is plenty of natural light in the house during the day but night time we use hydro electricity for lighting and other appliances. There is a lemon tree in the compound and guests can enjoy a freshly made lemonade on the lawn. It is only about 20 minutes from the Entebbe airport. Apart from the closeness to the airport, the place is also within walking distance to the main road which makes public transport easy to access. It is enclosed in a brick fence giving guests some privacy and security. It has a small but quaint lawn with comfortable seats where guests can have breakfast or dinner when the sun goes down. There is no washing machine but laundry services can be availed when the guests need them. The guests can indicate if they wish to have some or all their meals in the house and I can arrange for the meals to be made. The guests are welcome to utilise the living room, the kitchen and the lawn. They are also welcome to browse through the book selection. I am happy to provide information to the guests such as things to do, places to eat, cultural dynamics, interesting attractions outside of the area etc. It is a quiet and friendly neighborhood and guests may also enjoy taking a walk through the village. The village has a school, a church and several private homes. It takes less than 2 minutes to walk from the house to the main road which makes access to public transport easy. There are public minibuses that go to Kampala and to Entebbe town. There is an option of using private hired taxis or uber. I can provide the guests with contacts of taxi driver if they wish to get a taxi. There is also an option of using motorbikes, locally referred to as bodabodas if the journey is not a long one. This option is however not so ideal.
