Nestled in a secluded pine grove, our comfy 975 sq. ft. Studio has 13' ceilings, panoramic views of Wakefield, the Gatineau Hills & River. Sheltered deck dining + Weber BBQ + compact kitchen (see Guest access) + a large 4k TV, mini-gym, work space, quick access to Wakefield & Gatineau River/Park, 3 alpine ski/golf resorts, the Belvedere & Eco-Odyesse; and few bugs, even May-June. Less than 30 mins. from Ottawa, + handy access to Wakefield. Check our Photo Directory for more info & activities. This spacious and private 975 sq.ft. private Studio has a home theater and small gym, but its primo feature is the two Decks with the best views of Wakefield and the Gatineau Hills/River, set in an immersive pine grove enveloping the outdoor dining area. Even with epic views ( on Youtube: Time Lapses by David Nobbs ), you always feel comfortable with radiant floor heating and constant breezes. With no conventional A/C (central exchange boosted by a geo-thermal subsystem), 16'' thick walls, and secluded mixed/pine forest canopy, our Tree House is a serene and comfortable retreat year round. And according to the Ottawa Citizen, its ultra-green ( (website hidden) Not a science project but a home ) with some of the best views of the Gatineau Hills and River anywhere. And let us fill you in about nearby river access for swimming and other nearby attractions and activities. The entire second floor via a private external staircase, with mini-Gym, Home Theater, and office workstation, and a compact kitchen with a roomy convection toaster oven, microwave, fridge, and induction range; but no sink (so we do the dishes!) I will usually be downstairs, and will, of course, always endeavour to respect your privacy. I can arrange to leave a key for self-entry and exit. As the creator of the History of the Gatineau Hills web site (for Canada's Digital Collections), former storefront owner and sitting member of the village planning committee, I can help you access the charms of the area. I am also reachable by cel, e-mail or SMS, & usually stay on-site overnight (separate Apartment). I can provide breakfast provisions and takeaway used dishes. Please refer to Our Guidebook for our favourite Wakefield (and environs) eateries and activities. We can guide you around our two acre wooded lot, and suggest hiking/snowshoeing trails close at hand. The new four lane highway allows easy access to and from the Ontario/Quebec bridges in less than 25 minutes. Wakefield is a 25 min. walk across the lovely Covered Bridge. Parking Lot 17, the gateway to hundreds of kilometres of Gatineau Park bike/ski trails, is 15 mins. away by bike. There are few insects on the river side, with an odd biter at dusk (mainly in May-June) or very humid; the deck fan takes care of the odd biter. We can fill you in about nearby river access for swimming.
