Quiet 16th century back house completely renovated with modern kitchen, dinning area, garden & terrace with luxury bathroom- extra large tub. Center of town, 3min. from nightlife, cafes, museums and restaurants. Use of picnic area, BBQ and bicycles. The 16th century back house is the last of a row that still retains some of it's historic integrity by keeping large wooden beams and features but providing modern bathroom and kitchen. The city garden in tranquil and cozy with use of BBQ and garden furniture. Guests have their own private entrance for total privacy. Use of two 3 gear bicycles for trips in the countryside and nearby cities and hamlets. Gouda is equidistance to three major cities as well as being a unique tourist attraction with plenty of activities, bars, restaurants, markets and events of it's own. Two secure parking lots (indoor/ outdoor) are within walking distance, free parking is available just beyond the harbour in a residential area. Owning a Pilates studio I have plenty of time to spend with my guests during the day- also offering private Pilates machines lessons if desired! I speak German, French and Portuguese and am happy to guide or help in any way. I love the fact that the city center historical square is 3 minutes walk with a beautiful old city hall and a magnificent and impressive church with plenty of boutiques, hidden garden terraces for lunch or dinner, restaurants and bars, some jazz clubs and a decent wine bar too! Yet, the peace and tranquillity we experience here puts you at ease and is very soothing. A 3 minute walk in the other direction finds along a little harbor bordering town which leads straight into the Dutch countryside full of grasslands and sheep! Nearby Reeuwijk has lovely little houses and cottages surrounding the lake - it's a great bike ride as well as touring the tops of the dikes. The train station is an 8 minute walk and 3 major cities are a 20-30 min. journey. Amsterdam is 1 hour away. There are also several bus routes with regular time schedules. Essentially everything is within walking distance. I have put together a special book with several of my favorite places, destinations and shops that I particularly like to visit- some of these places give my clients discounts or freebies and that's always nice. I know the more " off the beaten path places" that are particularly nice such as the garden terraces of two (!) museums, one which has live music during the summer and the other a fabulous high tea!! The nearby park also offers music performances on sundays in June and July and my friends cultural space has live music and salsa dancing as well! I also know the best spot to watch the sunset alongside the water with a nice cool glass of wine as the ducks swim by! My husband and I are " foodies" and know the best places for delicacies and great wine- we smoke our own meat and I make home-made jams and yogurts (these of course are part of the luxury breakfast * when available!)
