Chateau Apartment in Normandy (For Sale)

A gorgeous and romantic escape from the 21st Century!! Our beautiful apartment 1km from the sea in this historic Chateau is popular with writers for a creative bohemian location full of inspiration. We offer superb comfort, a roaring log fire, a sublime four poster bed to gaze at the stars through ceiling to floor historic windows. The apartment is warm cosy in Winter, yet cool and airy in Summer. We have bikes for four in the cellar and beach paths and country tracks for cycling nearby. The grassy elegant terrace is a wonderful place to relax with a drink and have a barbecue or walk up the stone steps to the upper Chateau park and stroll down to see the recently discovered statue of Jean of Arc .. a peaceful spot for contemplation and with wonderful sea views under the avenue of trees. Guests can park to unload at the bottom of the main stone staircase and then park alongside our neighbours cars to the left of the chateau. We’re always available by text, phone or email. The sea, gorgeous Normandy villages, restaurants and of course, the D-Day beaches are all within easy driving distances. Perfect cycling country .. we provide 2 -4 adult bikes which saves paying for bike hire. We can provide smaller bikes for over age 12 ‘s. You will need a car if you intend to see much of the region and parking is easy, both at the chateau but also across the region in towns & villages. Although we are now selling our apartment, it is still available for renting long or short term. We have a comprehensive handbook about the apartment, the facilities and all local amenities. We include information about wonderful restaurants, nearby markets and antiques fairs, as well as summer Jazz Festivals and the Val d’Saire August Classical music programme showcasing the best musicians from the Paris Conservatoire performing in local historic homes, chateaux and st wonderful al fresco picnics in beautiful rural locations. We have a guest bedroom for two which is outside the main ground floor apartment, although we often host two couples and they happily share the bathroom IN the apartment. This guest bedroom is two flights of stairs up outside the main apartment, and is warm, well equipped with fridge, drinks, kettle, heating and plenty of books, as well as spectacular views of the chateau parkland and the coast. The guest bedroom upstairs is not suitable for children under 12, but many of our younger guests (babies & toddlers), can be given a travel cot, which you can book free by email to us, or a double mattress for children over 2. Parents can put the quilted French double mattress in the Master Bedroom or even in the Salon. We have had very satisfied happy feedback from the six families who stayed with us this summer, and whose children slept with Mum & Dad in the main apartment. There’s no extra charge for any of this, we simply want to make our guests comfortable for their holiday in our Chateau apartment.
