We have converted the old stable into a guest accommodation and can offer a compact and modern living space right in the heart of Dunsfold. No street lamps, one pub and the village shop just about sum up the ambience. It's a beautiful springboard for country walks and our cosy and separate studio will provide a comfortable and well appointed base. Old Stable. We think it was originally built in the 18th century and formed part of an old blacksmiths. It's also done a stint as a fire station before it was shortened and replaced by a house. In March 2019 we converted the remaining portion which forms part of our property. Our house is one of 4 cottages built during the First World War. Hence "Victory Cottages". These were built in what was the garden of the house along the front. This house dates back to the 17th century. The Old Stable will have been on the land originally and probably was used for the family nag back in the old days. It now comprises a compact living area served by a fast Wi-Fi connection, a separate shower room and a fully fitted kitchen area with fridge, freezer, all pots and pans, plates, cutlery, small oven with two hobs and a separate microwave oven. There is shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste and toothbrushes for those who have forgotten their own. We have rigged a washing machine in the courtyard for exclusive use by guests. And a tumble drier is also available in an adjacent shed. There is an honesty tin for using the washing machine and tumble drier to cover the cost of electricity. Exclusive use of the converted stable. Table and chairs in courtyard for guests to use. Happy to answer any questions Dunsfold is a quiet village with historically significant interest. The church is over 800 years old with the oldest pews in the country (apparently!). There is an ancient well close to the church which has attracted pilgrims since before the church was built in the 13th Century. The water allegedly treats eye diseases. The shop and pub cater for all local needs. Trains to London or to the south coast may be caught at the closest stations. There is a bus service which covers the local area and which goes into Guildford. The village is a springboard for local walks across the downs or to adjacent villages. You will need a car to get into Guildford or Cranleigh. Buses do go every hour to both of those places. We are 12 minutes drive to the nearest railway station at Milford. Guildford station is 20 minute drive away. Trains fast to London Waterloo frequently. Trains go to Portsmouth or London Waterloo. Cranleigh 5 miles away. All shops, supermarkets restaurants etc can be found there.
