Beautiful, unusual property full of character in the heart of the historic Minster town of Southwell in Nottinghamshire, offering self-catering accommodation. The property dates from the 1800's and was formerly the stables for the old Blacksmiths. The living accommodation is on the first floor with the two bedrooms (one en-suite) and bathroom with cast iron feature bath, on the ground floor. Gorgeous beamed ceilings, wooden and slate floors and quirky features are to be found throughout the property. Just a two minute walk from the fabulous Southwell Minster and with celebrated local independent shops and cafes on the doorstep, you're sure to have a most relaxing and enjoyable stay! For young families there is a lovely play park a 5 minute walk away and there are lots of walks from the door, taking in the local history and surrounding countryside. A popular option is to walk along the Southwell Trail, which provides peaceful and relaxing walks along the old railway line, either towards the National Trust's old Workhouse or towards a lovely tea room in the beautiful lakeside setting at Maythorne - Cakes by the Lake. In the wider area there is the famous Sherwood Forest with the ancient Major Oak, as well as Clumber Park, Rufford Abbey, Thoresby Park, Newark with its castle and a number of other fabulous places to visit.
