Romsey, The New Forest and Peppa Pig World.
Once the village brewery, our beautiful centrally heated cottage is the perfect base to explore the New Forest and the Solent. If you fancy a day at home you can just laze in the garden - and our brilliant local pub is just a stroll up the road. Like to cook? The kitchen has everything you'll need. And the cosy living room has a log stove for those chilly autumn evenings. It's just four miles to Romsey for a choice of supermarkets and shops. And we're on site to sort out any problems. We've over an acre of country garden which you're welcome to enjoy. Guests have total use of The Brewhouse bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, living room, and patio. There's plenty of off road parking on the driveway right outside. We're just down the drive in the annexe - so if there's anything you need to know or any problem just come and knock on the door. Our peaceful little village is around ten minutes from the motorway - although you'd never know it! Four miles away from Romsey with its excellent shops, we're also an easy run to Salisbury with its bustling markets and beautiful cathedral and the busy port of Southampton. The New Forest is just down the lane, Peppa Pig World ten minutes away, and it's not far to Stonehenge or The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, or Portsmouth with its historic dockyard attractions including HMS Victory. A short drive takes you to the Solent coastline - plenty to explore there- or up to historic WInchester. And if you're prepared to go a bit further day trips to The Tank Museum and the ever popular Monkey World are perfectly possible. If you'd rather laze around there of plenty of good country walks and excellent pubs and restaurants in the surrounding villages. It's just a short stroll to our fine local pub, which does an excellent pint and good food. Other than that you'll need a car - don't worry, there's enough parking space at The Brewhouse for a couple of guests vehicles - three at a pinch! The Brewhouse is fairly compact, so only has one loo, which is upstairs. The separate bathroom has a reduced length bath - it was the only way to to get one in ... but if you're too tall to fit in it don't worry there's also a shower! The third bedroom can be configured with either two single beds or a double - just let us know when you book. We describe the garden as a country garden - which means there is the odd nettle and bramble. Don't worry, there's plenty of nicely cut lawn to lay out on - and if you're feeling really active Chrissie might let you borrow her croquet set! The Hatchet Inn serves a fine pint and does excellent food. You'll find plenty of locals there. As well as the normal menu Tuesdays and Thursdays are 'two for one steak nights' and tend to be extra busy - it's always advisable to nip up and book in with Liz the landlady if you want to eat.
