Listed woodside cottage in North Wessex Downs AONB

Westwood is a Grade II listed cottage and retains many charming original features. Situated along a quiet, village lane in the midst of woodland within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Westwood is a perfect retreat, especially for walking enthusiasts. Surrounded by beautiful countryside with seemingly endless trails for walking or cycling - some maps are provided - it is an ideal spot for unwinding and exploring. Westwood has a small larder-style kitchen which can be shut away when not in use. It has a cosy sitting room with TV and charming courtyard garden with table and chairs. WiFi is fast and reliable. My family and I live nearby so are happy to be available should you have any questions or need any help or advice. Basic kitchen provisions are provided as well as the wherewithal for a continental breakfast the morning after your arrival. Westwood is situated in a village called Cold Ash, in Berkshire. Surrounded by woodland, there are countless walks and bike rides to explore, with a nearby Iron Age fort (15 minute walk) as well as numerous ancient footpaths and byways. In nearby villages are some lovely independent cafes to visit and the old market town of Newbury, with its many cafes and restaurants as well as it’s famous racecourse, is ten minute drive away. Westwood is easily accessed by road and is only a ten minute drive from the M4 and A34 junction at Chieveley. The nearest railway station is at Thatcham, with a direct line to London Paddington (40 mins). A bus service to Newbury and Thatcham runs through the village. Walking maps are provided at the cottage. The cottage is deep-cleaned before any check-ins and Airbnb’s enhanced Covid 5-step cleaning process is followed meticulously.
