A beautifully located detached house all to yourselves, surrounded by a leafy garden at the rear, a generous parking patio at the front, and surrounded on all sides by gates. The house is built with beautiful Cotswold stone, and you’ll enjoy the clean, luxurious feeling of the brand new, architect-designed interior. Lemon Lodge is a newly built 2-storey detached house which boasts a light and airy open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area with views into the forest behind the house. From there you can enjoy your morning coffee with the neighbourly squirrels, birds and keep your eyes peeled for our local deers which can occasionally be spotted from the living room and 2nd bedroom windows. The kitchen is very well equipped, with a full Sage Oracle coffee machine offering everything from espressos to lattes. As you eat you can sit at the dining table and look out over the beautiful forest out of the back garden. The giant windows offer an impressive green vista as you gaze out over what was once a quarry owned by Winston Churchill’s family, but is now a forested woodland area. The seating area sits adjacent to the view, and as you sit and relax you can chat and enjoy the view, engage in conversation or play some board games, which are nestled away in the lounge. If you should fancy some outdoor fun, you’re in for a treat. There’s a gas-powered pizza oven, for cooking perfect Neapolitan pizzas, as well as both a gas-powered BBQ and and a coal BBQ. You can sit down and eat at the outdoor table, and then cosy up around the wood-burning firepit. From the upstairs kitchen, a dramatic staircase leads downstairs to the bedrooms, bathrooms and gym. Both bedrooms feature huge super king size beds, clothes rails, bedside tables and lamps. The master bedroom also boasts a HD TV, small seating area for working, eating or chilling, and a full en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. It features blackout blinds and looks out over the front patio. By contrast, the second bedroom has lovely views over the back garden. The main bathroom hosts a large freestanding bath-tub, perfect for unwinding after a long days’ fun in the countryside. Both bathrooms come with Cowshed toiletries as standard, plus you’ll find Cowshed hand sanitisers dotted around to ensure you’re protected. The dedicated gym room is the perfect place to start your day off right, with giant floor-to-ceiling mirrors to keen an eye on your form. You can get your sweat on with a Peloton exercise bike or lift weights with our weight bench and full range of dumbbells from 1kg – 17.5kg. Or if you’re into flexibility, our yoga mats, blocks and straps will help you summon your inner yogi. Finally, for the ultimate tourist workout, we highly recommend a run around the outer edge of Blenheim Palace. On foot you can easily walk to the local sights of Bladon and Woodstock and the surrounding fields and public footpaths. You can walk to the local church and pub, both revered in folklore surrounding Winston Churchill, or for the more sporty amongst you, run around Blenheim palace. You can be in the fields or palace in less than 5 minutes from our house. And for the serious walkers, there are many great walks in the local vicinity. By car or taxi you can easily travel to any of the surrounding sights of interest. Taxis can be ordered from or to Woodstock, Soho Farmhouse or any other nearby locations. Parking at Lemon Lodge is easy as it boasts an automatic gated parking area. It’s also perfectly placed on the edge of the Cotswolds with a short drive from the M40. You can get around by public transport too. The nearest train stations are Long Hanborough and Oxford Parkway, but we’re also accessible from Oxford too. You’d need to book a taxi from the destination to us. There is also a local bus service that travels to and from nearby neighbouring villages, just be sure to check the timetable as the schedule can vary. We will be contactable in case people have any queries, but we won't be onsite. This area is the perfect Cotswolds getaway. Lemon Lodge is nestled in the quaint Cotswold village of Bladon which runs along the edge of Blenheim palace grounds, also known as Britai'n's Greatest Palace. The entrance to the grounds is a short 3 minute walk away and believed to be a ‘Hidden gem’ of the area. With show stopping views, a large lake, hundreds of ducks to befriend. Blenheim palace has an array of wonderful entertainment on offer from events, shows as well as the stunning grounds to explore. Aside from Blenheim palace, the village is surrounded by magical walks, including a bluebell forest just 15 minutes stroll through the fields. This is a great spot to visit with family or friends for a tranquil weekend away with lots of walks and nature. Bladon is home to the grave of Churchill which you can find in the village churchyard. Villagers believe that Churchill ‘learnt to drink’ in the local pub ‘The White house’ which serves many local ales, good food and has a lively beer garden. If you’re walking around Blenheim Palace, be aware that some parts are free to walk through, but for some parts you will require a ticket for access. If you’ve got a ticket to a Blenheim event, then check if your pass includes walking access. The road running through Bladon can get a little busy, especially when big events are taking place. There is a little road hum at all times which you will hear from the garden, so do bear that in mind. The good news is that it’s also surrounded by the delightful tweeting of birds. Also, traffic can get congested when there are events on, so if you’re attending one of the motorcar events, for example, leave ample time when you’re planning your journeys. There are 2 rooms in the house which are locked as they contain our personal belongings. Please leave these rooms as they are! We do come back to this Lemon Lodge when we can as it’s so beautiful, so we keep some items there.
