Welcome to our Scandinavian cabin, set in a leafy glade where squirrels, hedgehogs, hares, wild ducks and pheasants roam safely. Explore the grounds and enjoy the peace. Private free parking on site. Continental breakfast included. There are two single drop-down beds in the cabin and if required there is space to pitch a 2 person tent next to the cabin; £20.00 per night. There are two fabulous, welcoming pubs in the village; one with a Michelin "Bib Gourmand" Just 2 miles from the A1. Our lovely cabin is warm and cosy. We have fitted it out with plenty of cushions and throws and back up heating if the days and nights get chilly. There is hot and cold running water in the bathroom. There are two single drop-down beds in the cabin and if required there is space to pitch a tent next to the cabin for 2 people; £20.00 per night [please confirm in your booking request if you'd like to include this] There is a wonderful Scandinavian BBQ in the centre of the cabin. Please note that the toilet is a composting eco-loo that is located 5 metres from the cabin. The compact kitchen area has a microwave, kettle, toaster, toasted sandwich maker and all the necessary glasses, mugs, plates, cutlery etc. There are benches around the interior walls to allow plenty of seating and storage underneath. Outside you have a chiminea (for heating and cooking if you prefer) and a seating area. There is also a fire pit for exterior BBQ's/cooking too. We have 2 donkeys and 2 sheep who love a fuss, along with 2 dogs who will play ball all day long!! This property is not suitable for children under the age of 14. We live on the other side of the hedge. We will check you in and explain how the indoor BBQ works (if you have not used a Scandinavian one before). We are always on the end of the phone or just knock on the door. We are ideally placed for our guests to visit the stunning town of Stamford with Burghley House (the setting for The Crown). The fabulous market town of Oakham is 6 miles away and Melton Mowbray (famous for its pork pies) is close by. Rutland Water is just a 5 minute drive. With its famous Ospreys it is a magnet for bird watchers. There are miles of cycle paths around the reservoir and canoes, dinghies etc can be hired. There is so much to do in the area. There are many walks nearby. The Exton Estate has several walks as well as Rutland Water. "Discover Rutland" is the Tourist information website. Rutland has a lot of purpose-built cycle paths .
