Sausage Cottage. A beautiful cottage in Ashover
Sausage Cottage is a luxurious and beautifully converted pigsty in the village of Ashover. We are ideally located for visiting Matlock, Bakewell, Chatsworth, Hardwick Hall, Haddon Hall and Crich Tram Museum. We have World Heritage sites close by, such as Arkwright's Mill in Cromford, along with a variety of picturesque Derbyshire villages. The cottage is in the village of Ashover, with many walks from the door. The village has 3 Pubs, Post office, café, butchers, grocery store and a gift shop. No expense has been spared in the renovation of the property, from a bespoke kitchen, locally reclaimed timbers, the log burner, beautiful light fittings and furnishings as well as a Smart TV with Soundbar for those rainy days. We live adjacent to Sausage cottage and are available to answer any questions to help you get the most out of your stay. Ashover has won Calor village of the year on 2 separate occasions. We have 3 excellent village Pubs, all of which serve food .The Poets corner is a real ale establishment and also serves breakfast, lunch and dinner . Stamp Cafe is open 7 days a week from breakfast to 4pm. Marsh Green Farm Shop is also worth a visit and serves lovely food, has a deli counter and a butchers shop . We also have our own village butchers which sells dry groceries, home made ready meals and excellent pies . Not forgetting The Tuck shop for home made baking , bread , eggs, sweets, ice cream and gifts . There are many beautiful local walks right from the door , along rivers and streams , through fields and woodland. Ashover is a great location for road cycling , with many quiet country lanes from the village and mountain biking is very popular here too . We are pretty close to the M 1 for a Derbyshire village . Matlock and Chesterfield both have a railway station and the X17 bus runs hourly from Matlock to Chesterfield via Ashover. (Website hidden by Airbnb)
