Welcome to Moors Edge in Charltons Village, located on the Cleveland Way and approx 6.5 miles from the coastal town of Saltburn on theYorkshire Coast. An ideal location for walkers and bikers alike or just if you need to be central with access to The North Yorkshire Moors, Yorkshire Coast and the famous town of Whitby approx 19 miles. Historic Guisborough Is approx 2.6 miles away with supermarkets and cafes. There is a regular bus service and taxis service or just enjoy walks within the area. Moors Edge is a large three bedroom house. The master bedroom is situated at the front of the house, back bedroom has a double and a single bed. The attic bedroom has a large king size bed, please be aware that the attic is accessible via steep stairs not loft ladders, consideration for ability to manage stairs is advisable prior to booking. We can provide a cot and small toddler bed, including bedding and any other essentials required for little one just let us know, we can fit baby gates and safety locks etc if and when required. The bathroom is spacious with bath and electric shower. Towels and complimentary toiletries provided. Downstairs offers a comfortable living area with a multi fuel fire which provides heating and hot water for kitchen and bath. There are full instructions for operation and plenty of fuel to keep you cosy and warm. All rooms have radiators that run off the fire, apart from the attic bedroom, there is an electric heater in this room and there are extra heaters in other bedrooms if required when fire not lit, please note that electric is provided via a key meter which is suitably topped up on a regular basis. Dining room has a large six seat table Kitchen with cooker, fridge, freezer and washing machine. We have stocked the kitchen with essentials including washing tablets, there is a drying area within the yard. Yard is accessible from kitchen area. Within the yard area is a secure shed if pushbikes need to be stored and yard area wide enough for motorbikes also if required for extra security and peace of mind. Overall if we have forgot anything just ask and we will try our best to accommodate your needs. Guests can enjoy all of house and have a home from home experience . There is parking at front of house and as I have mentioned secure parking at rear for motorbikes if required. Front of house has steps up to door leading into hall way with coat hanger and shoe/boot stand. I will store towels for wet doggies here also. Guests have free run of the house and if longer stays we can provide clean towels, bedding. Due to the house multi fuel heating system we may need to arrange coal/wood to be topped up, I can work around guests to enable this to be done. If guests havent had experience of a Coal/log fire, rest assured I can be on hand to light daily if required and offer advice around maintaining to enable a cozy stay. Charltons is quiet village with access to other towns either on bus routes, taxi or walking. Unfortunately there is no village shop but there is a well stocked shop in the village of Boosebeck approx 1.5 miles away, directions are available in house file. Our postcode reflects that we are in in Saltburn by the Sea however the town itself is 6.5 miles away. The best way to get around is by vehicle, there are regular buses that can take you to the main towns or our local taxis service. Bus routes and taxi details are available at house. Weather permitting of course gives the option of walking to your required destination there are some pleasant routes to surrounding towns and villages and always an option of jumping on the bus back. Please be aware that due to Covid restrictions some tourists attractions and services will be disrupted, If you can make us aware of your need for travel then we can find out information prior to your arrival. There is a regular bus with access to anywhere and local taxi service available all information is available on arrival including access to trains. I have an information stand with events ongoing and can provide local walks and maps if required. If walking the Cleveland Way I would recommend a great courier service called Weather Goat, excellent service and very friendly, check out their fb page for more details Local Attractions via bus route include: Guisborough Town 2.7 miles - Historic Guisborough offers a 900 yr old Augustinian Priory founded in 1119 as the Priory of St Mary by Robert de Bruce, within the grounds is a pleasant walk around the newly restored gardens lovingly cared for by the Gisborough Priory Project. The town offers lots of exceptional eateries and places to shop and relax. Saltburn. 6.4 miles - Offering a rail link to Middlesbrough and beyond, wonderful restaurants within the town itself but walk a little further and explore the seaside. There are further eateries if you choose to walk down the bank offering views across Huntcliffe and the Jurassic coastline. If you don’t fancy the walk there is a Victorian Cliff Lift down to Pier and lovely walk along the seafront, if this gets your appetite going there are eateries and of course Fish & Chips are always a must. There is a miniature Railway to ride on within the Valley Gardens which are a pleasure to walk through. Whitby 29 miles - Wonderful seaside town offering plenty to see and do breathtaking views and a 199 steps to visit the Ruins of the 7th Century Benedictine Abbey the inspiration of Bram Stokers Dracula. There is plenty to see and do with boat trips and fishing trips exiting the harbour where historically Captain James Cook set sail from.
