Attic room can be double or 2 singles. Reading room. Folding dining table. Oak doors throughout. Wood burning stove, wifi, bath & shower. Beautifully landscaped garden with views over Kinder. Perfect for walking, cycling or curling up by fire. Minimum stay 2 nights. Covid-19 safeguarding measures are in place. The cottage is situated a 10 minute walk out of Hayfield on a quiet, no through road leading to Kinder Scout and the reservoir. It's lovely and quiet and a perfect base from which to walk or cycle. The cottage is an old 19th century printer's cottage which has traditional charm with modern facilities. The internal stairs and outside steps are steep, which make it unsuitable for very young children and people with limited mobility. No smoking, no pets and no parties. You will have access to the whole cottage. There is a dining table which folds away and is stored behind the sofa in the lounge. There are four folding chairs which can be found in the cupboard under the stairs. Please note that the futon in the reading room is to be used as a sofa only and should not be used as a bed. There's a full information pack in the cottage which gives all the practical details you will need for your stay, including the extra safeguarding measures we have taken for Covid-19. Our mobile phone numbers are both in the pack. If you have any questions or concerns, please do call us. Our cottage is located in a truly magical place, just next to Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District. It's a paradise for walkers and cyclists and something for everyone, from gentle riverside pootles to serious hiking. There are also some fabulous pubs and coffee shops in the village. The nearest, The Sportsman, is just 200m away. If you come to Hayfield to walk or cycle or unwind with a book, you won't need to touch the car. The village centre is a 10 minute walk away where you will find local provisions. The towns of Glossop, New Mills and Chapel en le Frith are just a 15 minute drive away and have supermarkets and larger shops. The nearest train stations are at New Mills and Chinley, both of which have direct services to Manchester. In accordance with government guidelines, we have put in place additional measures to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection. This includes an additional deep clean disinfection after each stay.
