Farmhouse B&B near Stowe & Silverstone (Single)
Located in a quiet rural idyll, yet only moments from main access routes, our charming farmhouse with its large garden is a great stop-off when travelling for work or pleasure. We are blessed with wonderful outdoor spaces, great walks and cycle rides. We are close to Stowe Landscape Gardens, Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit, Bicester Village and the delightful old, market towns of Buckingham and Brackley. Oxford, Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds are easily accessed within 30-40 mins. Our home is a large, modern yet traditionally-styled, Cotswold stone farmhouse that we built ourselves some 15 years ago. It is packed with timber, beams and quirky twists that make it a charming place to stay. We offer B&B in two rooms. This is a single room on the 1st floor that has antique pine furniture; it has been recently redecorated in blue hues. It shares the adjacent family bathroom that has a double-ended bath with hand shower and a separate over-head shower. There is an upstairs games, TV and sitting room that guests may use, and in the winter, we have a downstairs sitting room with a wood-burning stove if required. We will do our very best to accommodate guests' requirements wherever possible. We aim to ensure that there is always a warm welcome for you and a cup of tea on offer on arrival. Sometimes, the work load of a busy farm does not allow us to spend as long with guests as we would like. We can speak a little French and Spanish which might sometimes be useful! Stowe School and Landscape Gardens: The surrounding N. Bucks area is picturesque and great for walking and cycling (we can house bikes). Our farm has numerous footpaths, and you can walk to Stowe from here. Silverstone: We are about 10-15 mins from the Grand Prix Circuit (by car) and can advise on the best routes into the circuit to avoid traffic on busy race days. Bicester Village: Extreme retail therapy can be found barely 15 mins away at the world-renowned shopping paradise that is Bicester Village. There is parking both on site and at off-lying areas served by shuttle bus. Oxford, Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds are easily accessed in 30-40 mins via the A34. Bicester Heritage: All things "vintage car" can be found at the old airfield on the outskirts of Bicester, 10 mins away. Given our rural location, it is easiest to have either a car or a bike to get around. We can offer secure bike storage on site. The X5 bus route (Oxford to Cambridge) passes close to the village, and if convenient we may sometimes be able to give you a lift to the nearest bus stop. There is also an excellent rail service from Bicester to both Oxford (12 mins) and Marylebone (50 mins), and we would be happy to arrange a taxi to take you to the station. Please contact us in advance to arrange this. We don't really want pets in the house, though we will try to accommodate any reasonable requests to leave pets in the car overnight (where safe to do so). Occasionally, we might not be able to serve breakfast if it coincides with farm chores, particularly on week day mornings and during harvest. At these times, we might leave a breakfast buffet to which you will be welcome to help yourself.
