Delightful, trendy, modern cottage in a pretty village near to Durham and in close proximity to countless local attractions. 1 double bedroom and 1 single bedroom on the first floor and an attic bedroom with a double sofa bed but restricted height on the 2nd floor. Private garden with off street parking, and ample on street parking. The village has a boutique hotel with a quality restaurant and beauty salon, a traditional pub and a club. I live 3 miles away and will be accessible by phone. Byers Green is a pretty rural Durham village, set on the banks of the River Wear with an exceptionally central location. It is only 1 mile from Binchester Roman Fort which boasts the finest example of a Hypocaust in the country and has played host to TV.s Time Team. Whitworth Hall, the former home of "Bobby Shafto" made famous in the nursery rhyme is also within walking distance of the village. 4 miles away is beautiful Bishop Auckland with it`s Georgian market place, art galleries and castle which was home to The Prince Bishops of Durham for centuries not to mention the epic show of the history of Britain "Kynren". Durham City and it`s magnificent Cathedral are 8 miles away and the beautiful Durham Dales, Hamsterley Forest, Killhope Wheel and High Force are only a few miles of scenic drive away. Locomotion museum at Shildon, Barnard Castle, Beamish open air Museum and Hadrian`s Wall are but a few of the countless attractions in the area. Guests will have the whole property to themselves for their private use. I live 3 miles from the property and will provide my number should you require anything. Byers Green is a pretty rural village but very close to major roads and transport links. there is a bus service with a bus stop right outside the property this service runs to Bishop Auckland, Spennymoor and nearby Willington where a connection can be made into Durham City. Thomas Wright House is a lovely boutique hotel right in the centre of the village overlooking the village green and about 300 yards from The Nest. It has an excellent restaurant which also does a handmade pizza take away service there is also a lovely beauty studio called Hidden Beauty in the grounds which offers facials, massage, manicures and pedicures and many other procedures. There is a traditional village pub called The Royal Oak which offers hand pulled ales and a village social club which hosts live bands on the last Saturday of the month. The Nest is a small property with 2 staircases. The one leading from the ground floor to the first floor has 2 turns in it and the staircase leading to the attic also has 2 turns in it. This although character enhancing may be a problem for those with mobility problems and toddlers. The shower bath is quite high sided and the bathroom is small this may prove problematic for those with mobility problems and for those wishing to bathe small children. The village does not have a shop but is closely located to Spennymoor and Bishop Auckland where a wide range of supermarkets can be found. It is also worth noting that the drive way is narrow but if a large car is to be accommodated there is plenty of on street parking.
