Cosy cottage with log fire and exposed beams that sleeps two people. Located on the edge of Shalford village common with easy access to good pubs, walking and cycling in beautiful countryside. The cottage has a large open-plan living area that was converted from an old dairy and has wonderful exposed beams. At one end are the sofas around a log fire, at the other, a dining table and the kitchen. There is a TV and DVD player. The kitchen has a two ring hob and a small combi oven which can grill and microwave as well as being a conventional oven. Off the hallway, the bedroom has a comfortable king sized double bed and enough space for a travel cot - we can provide one if needed, along with a high chair. The bathroom is a good size with WC, basin and bath with shower. All of the rooms are on the ground floor, there are just a couple of steps outside to get to the front door. The cottage has central heating and WiFi. The cottage is located in the grounds of our house but is accessed via its own entrance. There is parking for your car behind electric gates, on the driveway or in the carport. We can provide locked, indoor storage for bicycles if required. There is a dedicated outdoor seating area for you which looks out over our garden. Gas BBQ available during summer. Washing machine and tumble dryer available in guest laundry room next to the cottage. We're here to help if you need us, just knock on the door and ask. Otherwise we will leave you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the cottage. Shalford is a thriving and friendly village just two miles south of Guildford and in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage is located at the side of the common within easy reach of two village pubs, grocery shop, coffee shop and restaurants. The bridleway on our doorstep gives excellent access to walking and cycling in the area. It's a short walk to the towpath along the River Wey. Our location is an excellent base from which to explore the beautiful Surrey Hills. Various National Trust properties are nearby: Winkworth Arboretum, Hatchlands Park, Dapdune Wharf and Shalford Mill. We're also close to Loseley Park with its beautiful house and garden. The RHS garden at Wisley is a short drive away. Guildford offers a wide range of shops and recreational facilities. Godalming and Cranleigh are also busy towns nearby. There are various golf courses in the area. A car or bicycle is best so that you can explore. But Shalford has its own railway station on the Reading-Gatwick line. Or we are a short taxi or bus ride from Guildford station which has fast trains into the heart of London that take just 35mins.
