Cosy Country Cottage

Period cottage in the charming village of Shamley Green, 4.5 miles from Guildford town centre in the heart of the Surrey Hills. Recently refurbished and in the grounds of a private house. This property is not suitable for retirees. The exceptional situation of this cottage makes either a perfect retreat for walkers in our area or a convenient place to stay if you are on business here and/ or visiting friends. With it's own enclosed courtyard it is quiet and peaceful. It is an old coach house and retains many of the original period features. It is stylishly decorated with an oak floor downstairs, carpet upstairs and cosy, comfortable furniture. Open plan kitchen/living space, private courtyard with outdoor table, chairs and covered seating. The cottage is available to rent for a minimum of 3 nights. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is before midday. If you wish to arrange other times then please contact us in advance. The hosts live onsite next door and are generally available but are always contactable. There is a very good shop in Shamley Green (5 minutes' walk from cottage) selling upmarket foods and wine along with newspapers and all household goods etc. There are 2 pubs in the village - The Bricklayers Arms and the Red Lion - both a short stroll down the road. Both pubs serve delicious food. Booking advisable currently due to social distancing. There is a wood fired pizza van that comes to the village green on Wednesdays and a fish and chip/burger van that comes on Fridays - from about 4 - 9pm. Both are highly recommended. The main road has a bus route with buses running every 30 minutes to both Guildford and Cranleigh. We are equidistant (4 miles) between the two. The service runs hourly in the evenings and Sundays with the last bus around 11pm. Map of local walks is provided
