You will find, below, some useful tips and information based on our own experience. We love coming here and staying at the lodge with our little boy as there is so much to do on and off-site. At just over half an hour drive there is the amazing Sandringham – the Queen’s summer residence and, if you are lucky enough, you can meet her walking around the house or attending a Sunday mass at the local church which she often does when staying at her summer house. The extensive and beautiful park offers opportunities for a relaxing one or two-mile walk and there is also a large playground for the little ones, as well as wooden animal sculptures scattered around the park. Travel a bit further and discover breath-taking views of the Norfolk coast. We particularly like Hunstanton with its beautiful cliffs. At less than half an hour drive in the opposite direction you will find the outlet village of Spalding where you can not only pick up some amazing bargains but also relax in a beautifully landscaped park or play mini-golf. There is also a children’s playground and a mini-lake with ducks. On the way to Spalding you will find an extensive 16-acre garden centre with an array of amazing plants and pets. There is also an owl centre with lots of birds but also some foxes and other animals. You will be able to grab a bit and a drink in an on-site café and restaurant whilst your children can paddle in a large sand pit or have fun on the outdoor slides. If you’d rather stay away from shops you can visit the beautiful market town of March, Lincoln, Boston or Cambridge which are all within about an hour’s drive. Wisbech itself offers a variety of activities from walks along the river Nene to a stylish ‘The Luxe’ cinema with leather arm chairs and two-seater sofas. And if the weather is bad simply relax in an amazing on-site pool, sauna and steam room. Those who like more energetic ways of spending their holidays can work out in a well-equipped gym or join a class. Please not there is a small, additional charge for those. As you can see you really cannot get bored staying here. Any questions please let us know and we will be happy to help. We really want you to enjoy your stay here so will try to answer any queries as soon as possible. Great base to visit Norfolk Coast, Lincoln, Cambridge, Sandringham, Stamford, Peterborough and Spalding Shopping Outlet. Very peaceful location, lovely nature walks, amazing on-site facilities, friendly staff. This is a fantastic holiday home in a great location, peaceful setting and with a wealth of fabulous leisure facilities. The popular North Norfolk coastline with excellent beaches, nature reserves and magnificent stately homes, including the Royal Estate at Sandringham, is within about half hour drive. Cambridge is about an hour’s drive. Free wifi at the lodge, Cafe and bar/club house on site. Please note, the leisure facilities are available at an extra charge. Please note that children swim times apply. These times may vary during bank holidays and special events so please check with the reception before arriving at the centre. PLEASE NOTE: Basic toiletries, hand soap and towels are provided . You can purchase an additional towel at the reception should you wish to. If the WiFi does not work at the lodge please switch the box off at the mains for 15 minutes and switch it back on.
