Foxglove Cottage is a delightful, bjou detached property dating back to the early 1800's, located in the heart of the pretty village of Calver, in the Peak District National Park. Beautiful throughout and retaining some wonderful character, this Calver cottage makes an excellent base for a romantic retreat for couples or a base for Business or solo travellers looking to enjoy this beautiful part of the Derbyshire countryside. . Set over three floors and boasting lovely village views , the lounge is a great area to relax in front of the wood burning stove. The accommodation also offers an elevated mezzanine sitting area above the lounge, complete with books, games and a music centre which plays vinyl records and CD's. The stairs from the lounge takes you down into the charming double bedroom complete with en-suite shower room. To the front of the cottage you will find the outdoor seating area, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening before enjoying a hearty meal in the local pub 40 seconds from the back door CALVER Baslow 1.5 miles; Eyam 2 miles; Chatsworth 2 miles; Bakewell 5 miles:. The delightful, traditional village of Calver lies in the shadow of Froggatt Edge and Curbar Gap, in the heart of the Peak District National Park. A wonderful traditional village with a couple of country pubs serving good hearty Derbyshire food, fine wines and local hand pumped ales. Calver Village is close to the National Trust-owned Longshaw Estate, and less than five miles from Chatsworth House - home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. As well as a traditional pub , the pretty village of Calver has a Hairdressers, Cafe, Walking/Outdoor Clothing & Garden Centre, Petrol station, small supermarket selling local produce, a craft shop and a gallery. The area is a wonderful base for walks, climbing, Horse riding and mountain biking. The next village of Baslow with shops, pubs and restaurants is only a mile and a half away, and a further range of amenities can be found in the market town of Bakewell, the ancient capital of the Peak District and home to the famous Bakewell pudding. Haddon Hall is close by, as is the historic 'Plague' village of Eyam with its selection of pubs, cafes and a craft centre, making a day out in the parish of Curbar can be enjoyed by all. As and when our guests have any questions or need any help. The village of Calver offers a traditional country pub, less than a minute’s stroll from this Derbyshire cottage, as well as a Hairdressers,cafe, a supermarket, an art gallery and a craft shop. There are off road walks that lead directly onto Froggatt and Curbar Edge, plus the National Trust-owned Longshaw Estate is close by. The magnificent Chatsworth House Estate, villages of Baslow, Eyam and Bakewell, the ‘ancient capital of the Peak", are all within five miles, making this Calver cottage the perfect romantic retreat, at any time of year! If you wish to park and leave your car outside the cottage or have no transport there is a local Bus Service running to various areas which can be accessed from Calver Crossroads. The routes they cover are: Stoney Middleton, Eyam, Baslow, Chatsworth, Chesterfield (Train Station) Hathersage,( Train Station) Bamford (Train Station) Ladybower Dams and Sheffield.
