Self-contained downstairs garden wing with king-size double bed, private sitting room and ensuite shower and toilet in 250 year old Cotswold stone cottage with a large, well established, south-facing garden. A peaceful country hideaway. The c.1750 Cotswold stone cottage features the original outbuildings housing the privies and laundry washrooms. The single storey garden wing, a later addition, is built in the original stone. The suite has direct access to the garden, through French doors, and guests may share the use of the conservatory. We have central heating with an additional electric radiator in the bedroom, powered with our photovoltaic solar panels. Guests, who need to prove they are double vaccinated, have their own use of the ground floor suite in the garden wing with a very comfortable, king-size, double bed in the bedroom and TV, internet, tea, coffee and sofa in the sitting room. Access is through the shared front door and conservatory. Please note there are two steps down into the bedroom from the sitting room. In the attractive village of Chadlington food and drink is available in the village at Café de la Post and The Tite Inn, (Friday and Saturday only). The Cafe also offers, once a week on a Saturday night, Pizza. A convenient stay for the nearby Merriscourt wedding venue, FarmEd, Daylesford, Soho Farmhouse and Chipping Norton. Guests are welcome to come and go when they please and help themselves to tea or coffee. I will be present to welcome you and provide keys. Towels are provided. Breakfast of cereals, yoghurt, fruit and croissant provided to be taken in the garden or the shared conservatory. We use Airbnb ourselves and so want to make you feel as welcome as we have been. Chadlington is a friendly village in the Cotswold Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with Café de la Post, which serves breakfasts, lunches and tea; The Tite Inn, a vibrant village pub, owned by Chadlington Brewery, and two shops, - Chadlington Quality Foods and Slatters Family Butchers. Four miles away are the pretty country towns of Charlbury (with direct trains to Oxford, Worcester and London), and Chipping Norton. Also nearby are Woodstock and Blenheim Palace, Daylesford, Merriscourt, Burford, Great Tew and Soho Farmhouse, Bicester Shopping Village, Oxford and Cheltenham. During the summer months, The Big Feastival and Wilderness festivals are close by. Chadlington is on Sustrans cycle route 442 and I can offer undercover, overnight storage for bicycles. We are on the Oxfordshire Way footpath and there are plenty of circular walks from the cottage. The ancient Wychwood Forest lies on the other side of the valley, as is the annual Wilderness Festival. The train station at Charlbury is four miles away, and does require a taxi (or a one–hour hike), but if you are staying for three or more nights I could arrange to meet you. There are buses to Witney, Charlbury and ChippingNorton. For those of you who are driving, there is parking on the road immediately outside the cottage. The accommodation is not very suitable for toddlers or young children, there is an unprotected pond in the garden, and indoors a low-level kettle and cups etc. No bedding provision is made for children.
