Bean Hill Farm. Luxurious & spacious with parking.
A stunning cottage situated in the heart of Castleton. Luxuriously appointed throughout, with traditional beams, cosy wood burners, and relaxing furnishings. The cottage has recently been upgraded, yet retains its lovely character and original features. There are 3 new bathrooms, and a large downstairs bedroom, suitable for guests unable to climb stairs. There's a lovely south facing garden and patio, parking for 3 cars, and the central location makes it a perfect retreat for up to 6 people. Very few properties in Castleton have off road parking, or a private garden. Our property has both. Our guests have sole use of the private cottage garden and patio, which is in the sunshine all day long. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs, the King and the Double, both of which have en-suite shower rooms. The largest bedroom is downstairs, and has zip-link beds, so can be used either as two full size single beds, or zipped together to make a huge superking bed. This room is suitable for guests who would rather not have to climb any stairs. All the beds have crisp white, freshly ironed cotton bed linen. The adjacent large bathroom has both a double ended bath, and a separate shower cubicle, as well as a basin and WC. The kitchen is also newly appointed, and has a new induction range cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, and dining table for 6 guests. Both the lounge and the kitchen have Clearview wood burners, for those chilly winter evenings. There is a washing machine in the boiler room, with adequate space to dry out your boots and walking gear. Castleton has six pubs, all of which serve food, and a fabulous Italian inspired restaurant, all within a short stroll. Should you want to venture further afield, Chatsworth House, and the market town of Bakewell, are less than 30minutes drive away. There are regular trains to Hope from both Manchester & Sheffield. Please contact me if you would like to check in on a different day of the week. The property may not be suitable for young children, as there is no safety gate on the stairs, however well behaved children are welcome. The guests have sole use of the cottage,. patio and the front garden. The car park is shared. The hosts live nearby, and have their own private property with garden. The farmhouse has been appointed to a very high standard, and has new furniture & furnishings, as well as a brand new induction range cooker. Both the kitchen and the lounge have cozy Clearview wood burners. The washing machine and fridge freezer are also brand new. There is a zip-link bed in the largest bedroom, which can be arranged as two full size single beds, or zipped together to form a super-king. Bedroom 2 has a king sized bed, and bedroom 3, a double. Crisp, white, ironed bedlinen is used on all the beds. All bedrooms have their own bathroom, two of which are shower rooms with sink and WC, and the largest has a full size double ended bath, a separate shower, hand basin and WC. Castleton is a year round destination. Within 5 minutes walk are the local eateries, 6 pubs, a tourist information centre, and the village stores. The amazing landscape which surrounds the village is accessible to all. You can walk for an hour on a footpath, or a full day on mixed terrain, to suit your ability. The Great Ridge of Mam Torr being my very favourite route. From the Ridge, you can access the Edale valley and Jacobs ladder, which is a popular hill walking and mountain biking route. The Limestone way starts here, with a rocky walk behind Peveril Castle and beyond. If you're not feeling so energetic, then Chatsworth House offers many attractions, as does Haddon Hall and Bakewell. The festive season starts mid November, and the village is filled with Christmas trees, carol singers, and festive events in the Peak Cavern. We expect guests to be thoughtful of our neighbours, and behave respectfully throughout their stay. We also expect guests to respect our property, and look after our furnishings etc. We use quality hotel bed linen and towels, and the cleaning charge is actually for this. (there isn't an option to specify linen). We expect that guests will leave the place clean and tidy on their departure, and we ask that young children are fed in the kitchen, and not allowed to take food onto the sofas. Both the accommodation, and Castleton are very close to my heart, and I work hard to ensure that the standard of the accommodation is kept high for everyone to enjoy. I will do my utmost to ensure you have a lovely holiday. You won't be disappointed.
